    Install question:

I installed the beef a while back and am just getting around to asking. I obviously removed the factory skids, but also pulled a pair of supports off the frame that were in the way of the new skids. Since they don't come with install instructions and I'm trying to decide what to do with this stuff, I wanted to ask if you all pulled the same parts off.

Is there anything in the pic below that you did NOT pull off? Didn't want to get rid of something I should have kept. Thanks for the peace of mind.

And thanks again Jerry for the killer armor.

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
Yes those two supports are No longer needed. Those and the factory skids should be the only think you removed.

    Not enough
I've yet to install the final rear skid but installation is pretty self explanatory.
Take off factory skids first. Remove 2 front skid braces. Jerry has made these skids to line up perfectly with the factory mounting holes so there is really no guess work involved.
I balanced the front skid on a jack and slid the jack under the truck and just lined up the 2 front holes. Once i got the 2 bolts started I used the jack to help lift the rear of the skid to start the other bolts. Dont tighten any of the bolts fully yet. You will use the factory bolts for only the front skid. One thing to consider is that this is a perfect time to change your front diff fluid and trans fluid. To make it easier, you'll probably have to remove the skids if you decide to do it after.
If you have your exhaust re routed then the mid skid should also not be a problem. The cross member that holds the transmission has 4 long bolts that mount to the frame which Jerry meticulously planned it to replace with grade 8 bolts for mounting the mid and rear skid to. The mid skid is attached to the front skid by 3 bolts, a bit tricky to get your arm in there and get the middle bolt started and tightened. What really helps is to keep the front skid bolts not fully tight so there's some movement.

I have not installed the rear skid yet because I ran out of time, but once again its pretty straight forward and i know my plan of attack. Bolt the cross brace to the rear skid first, loosely mount it to the transmission cross member/ mid skid bolts, Mark where you need to drill into the frame, drill and then final install.4080.jpg 4007.jpg
