Sometimes I get just a P0456, which I believe is also related to the evap canister.

From what I’ve read urd is the way to go all the way. And yeah I’ve been planning on extending, just have been lazy and not a lot of time. Have the extensions all ready! Might tackle it this weekend and hopefully it fixes it. Thanks for the info man!

Do you by chance have a list of everything you need to extend the filler lines? That's on my to do list, hopefully it will also clear these codes. I do already have the urd/walbro pump upgrade. Just dragging my feet on extending the lines

From what I’ve read, all you need to do is extend the filler line. Which you can use the 4runner line to make it work. The other two are supposed to be able to be bent far enough. Let me see if I can find the thread. I’ve had the 4runner part for a while now so I can get that sku tomorrow

Replaced the canister this weekend and made it a whole 20 hours before the CEL and Trac OFF buttons were illuminated again. I did not do the filter, I suppose that would be the next step in this process. Anyone know what else this could be. It effects my ability to manage the VSC, which is my main concern with wanting to correct the issue. All info/advice is much appreciated.

I just dealt with it, but last week the truck was really struggling to drive up a steeper hill, it wouldn't let me accelerate above 25. Does anyone know if these codes can throw you into limp mode?

I replaced my gas cap last week as a last ditch effort to fix the problem without removing my bedrack and lifting the bed. :fingerscrossed:

After hastily throwing a canister in and replacing the cap I'm still having issues.

I used to unhook the battery and get a week or so, but now it throws after a few minutes. It also seems to throw it in limp mode.

I've come to the conclusion that I'm going to have to replace the system. Does anyone have a diagram of the entire evap system? Part numbers? In the mean time I guess its time to remove the rack, RTT, and bed.

I don't have a diagram, but try inspecting the lines. Make sure that none of them are cracked or collapsed. Try blowing some compressed air through each of them to blow out any blockages.

I can't imagine that the lines/hoses are that much. If I'm removing the bed, I'm replacing all lines. I think I might even do the brake lines while I'm at it.

I just wanted to update because I hate when solutions aren't posted. After going into limp mode my truck had different codes. It turns out it was my secondary air injection pump. Very common for 2012, got lucky there was a service campaign that covered it. No ripping the bed off this time around anyhow.

Well, an update in what seems to be a 6 year saga for me.

I first received the codes sometime in 2014 (I think). Cleared the codes and they stayed away for 4 years and came back on a cold night. Since then, I've received them probably once a year on the coldest night of the year (usually somewhere between 0 and 32, so below freezing). I recently received these codes again and it has yet to dip below 50 in the evenings. I think it was in the 60s the day that the codes tripped. As has become my SOP for these, I cleared the codes and they have not come back. However, my gas mileage has gotten worse with no additional mods to the truck.

I think I'm going to bite the bullet and replace the canister and filter, as that seems to be the consensus in this thread.

Those dreaded codes would trip every week. I got so fed up with bothering a mechanic buddy to look at it with me that I started unplugging my battery to clear them. It was time for my annual smog test and I was worried I wouldn't pass.. But I did lol. The weirdest part is I haven't seen the codes pop up for almost 2 years. I haven't noticed a change in gas mileage or noticed any indication of it going into limp mode (fingers crossed). I'm hoping it was just a damaged gas cap.

My shiny new ODB2 computer (since Autozone will apparently not tell you the actual codes now) shows me I popped these 5 codes today. Gonna try clearing them and see what happens...

Has anyone ever figured this out? I have a 2010 dbl cab, 4.0 v6, 4wd. Same codes. I replaced the leak detect pump a few days ago. Still showing emission system incomplete in torque, so not sure if it's fixed or not. I driven about 80 miles since I replaced the pump. Waiting to see if the CEL comes back on...

Update: the codes came back after driving a little over 100 miles. I'm stumped. Does anyone know if there's a way to bench test the evap leak detect pump?
