    Gotta figure out why my heat isn’t working. Gotta see if it’s the heater valve or heater core. I know changing the core sucks.

    Not really, it comes from a genuine place

    Plus I don't need someone to ask about my past for me to be sad about it or not... Cuz I certainly can be either way :luvya:

    It served me well... kind of. It's at 310K miles. It leaked the entire time I've used it and I cracked the case barely giving any beans torquing the plug to spec. The old crush washer was literally paper thin so maybe some shop serviced it and weakened the plug area before me with an impact. I'll swap on my low mile spare one after this weekend. For now it will be patched with FIPG and sadness.

    Looks like a little help from anavar to me. I remember going to the gym in one January just after the OTC pro-steroids (e.g. andro stacks) were outlawed years ago. It was like watching the incredibly shrinking men over the next few months. I saw guys lose a good 25% of their mass in such a short time. It let everybody know who was on the juice. One guy had a gym owner buddy who had some way to smuggle steroids in from Mexico. One guy I knew who was importing Winstrol for shots from somewhere in Europe develop a bunch of tumor looking lumps that required surgical removal.

    @cruiserguy and @Speedytech7

    Do you guys notice a small amount of spline gear backlash between the axle and flange on CV axles?

    I can easily slip a new OEM flange over the end of a new OEM axle. If I try, I can rock the flange a few thousands of an inch.

    The reason I ask is I'm seeing some posts about an aftermarket axle (Cardone/NAPA) that fits so tightly with the flange, that people either sand off the splines or hammer the flange on with a brass hammer to get it on.

    Remembering the old says of 12 bolt posi-trac rear ends where you needed a little backlash to absorb expansion for when the parts heated up makes me wonder if having none is worse than having a something like 0.010-inch lasted longer than having none.

    I remember mine being rather easy to put back on, but I didn't try rocking them. They aren't supposed to be super tight, but the slip shouldn't be excessive either. Early 80 series end up using the late 80 and 100 series flanges because the stock early ones strip out.

    That's a good question. I have had mine off a couple times but I don't remember ever thinking it felt like it had excessive play. I definitely wasn't looking for it either though. I think I have the FSM right her by me laying down on the couch, lmao. I can check for the spec if you want :D

    It going to be ok with the new OEMs. I'll use some good waterproof grease that will last for years. I started a CV axle discussion thread on Mud that I think will be going on for long time. Meanwhile, I'm learning a lot about different brands of CV axles. Check it out. Some of the info may be relevant for Tacoma axles.

    I like first gen's anyway, they're so darn simple that even Chrysler couldn't find a way to fuck em up. Just a good engine and enough wires to turn on some lights. As long as it has a manual trans they last forever

    Very true, but the right wheels/tires and a black painted flat bed is the whip cream and cherry on top.
