Hello long travel folks, I drive a 2002 2.7l regular cab Prerunner. I’ve decided on going the long travel route, I’m familiar with the maintenance it requires and all that pizzaz. Most likely going to go with Total Chaos, though nothing is concrete. I don’t currently have the money for the kit+shocks, but wanted to see my options for suspension in the mean time. Was wondering if there are any options that are bolt-on(with everything stock besides aftermarket UCA’s)/require minimal fab, but will still be usable and viable when I install a long travel kit down the line. More interested in Kings, but I’m not totally against going the fox route, preferably resi’s front and back though. I’m not looking to throw down any insane travel numbers, and understand that if they’re shocks that fit on my current truck they probably won’t perform the same as if I bought the kit+the extended travel Kings TC has on their website(unless anyone knows if I can get those to fit somehow). Thanks

TL;DR: Are there any shocks (King/Fox) that would either bolt on or require minimum fabrication on a stock truck besides aftermarket UCAs, but still be usable with a TC long travel kit later down the line?

Keep researching because if you are truly familiar you wouldn't even ask that question

You will bottom out the shocks. LT vs Stock are different lengths. Save and get everything done at once.

I said I’m familiar with maintenance long travel requires ie. ball joints, checking torque on spindle bolts etc. I was making this clear so that I didn’t get any of the “Are you sure mid-travel isn’t right for you, going full LT is cost and time consuming” bs. I never claimed I was familiar with shock options for my truck. Either way yes I knew the answer about bolting on extended travel shocks was probably a no, but I figured I’d put it out there and see what other people have done in the past/how they’ve gotten around it if there was a way.

Been scouring OfferUp, EBay, the forums everyday trying to find a deal but no luck yet. If you have any suggestions of somewhere I might have better luck it would be much appreciated

just keep scouring, it's tax season and dudes will be spending/buying stuff to switch from +2 kits to +3.5, or going back to stock to trade for a raptor, jeep, or whatever. Also a lot of dudes that buy stuff now or from black friday will realize they can't afford to go LT and will sell their brand new parts that have been sitting in the kitchen corner.
