Are my TRD wheels fakes?

Bought a used 2018 SR a year ago that came with a leveling kit and TRD wheels or so I thought. Last week I noticed one of my wheel caps had come off. I ordered what I thought was a replacement off ebay but when it arrived I had issues installing it. Once I compared it to my existing wheel caps I realized while it looks similar, they are definitely different. I might be able to install this OEM cap on these but don't want to break it or have it look wrong. The very center circle of the cap appears to be metal and possibly removable but sure.

I won't even care if my wheels are fake but I do fear replacing this center cap will be much more difficult if so. Thoughts?

Are you sure your eBay center cap is real?

My money would be that the part from ebay is fake but the genuine Toyota part should have the # stamped on the back somewhere.

No but after looking at all the ones available on ebay, they all match the one I bought. The most notable difference is the little notch that goes inwards between the spokes. The ones on my truck are longer and narrow. All the ones I can find online are wider and shorter. Can you see that? The 2nd pic is the best example..

Take your cap to a Toyota dealer and compare it, surely they have one in the parts department.

Ya that was going to be my next step. But if my wheels are replicas, not going to be much they can do. If they aren't, I wonder if this is covered by the 36k warranty lol. Considering the cap literally just fell off somewhere.

It is not covered by warranty, especially if they are aftermarket. You could look for markings on the wheels and see if you can identify who made them and contact them for center caps but it looks like the ones on the truck might have been painted so who knows.

Ya that was the part number from my ebay purchase I believe. Every single cap I've seen on the internet looks like that. Guess my options are see if I can force it on my replica wheel or see if one of these replica merchants sells center caps lol. Such an annoying problem.

For sure. Good luck. They should not be hard to track down.

Ya I think I found my wheels or ones very close. https://www.ebay.com/itm/17x9-Matte...383343654943?_trksid=p2385738.m4383.l4275.c10 Unfortunately I can't find any center caps for those wheels. Contacted the seller about buying one but I'll be shocked if I even get a response. I may have to try just modifying my OEM part to fit :/

Thanks for the help. If anyone knows where to find the part off these replica wheels, hollar!

Good luck because unfortunately I think yours are not the OEM wheels.

Pretty sure your wheels aren't OEM. The OEM wheels are more matte black than the photo above portrays.

The wheels look real and so do the new caps, but the old caps look fake.

I agree, I think they're not OEM. My center cap matches the OEM.

Nonsense, at least for now. Most of the truck is made in Mexico. Chevys are mostly Chinese parts.

Tacoma OEM pro wheels are gloss black not matte, they also don’t have the markings (cast in) by the valve stem that the ones in the picture do. OP, they are not OEM pro wheels from a Tacoma, could be be 4Runner though.
