Since the warranty is for 10 yrs. take it back and tell them the housing clip is broken.

Super glue. This happened to me when I was putting back my oem intake after removing a K&N intake. I had to relocate the air pump and when I was putting it back the other insert were the rubber tube goes snapped off. I super glued it and left it untouched over night, put the hose back on and it's been good for over a year now.

An apoxy formulated for plastic would bond the plastic together and be a permanent fix. It's not in the same category as duct tape.

Plus the component could be covered by an extended warranty. Just make sure that you don't tell them that you were attempting a modification. They may take issue with that.

But they may not warranty it just for the broken tab. Good luck!

HPTuners and delete the system....OFF ROAD USE ONLY!

If it's not covered under warranty then HPTuners is bar none your cheapest option AND you'll gain some power, throttle response and transmission improvements.

Yes it is! But keep in mind once you purchase the mpvi2 you also have to unlock your ecm.. that’s another $200 in credits on top of the mpvi2 purchase. But you’ll also have full tuning capabilities with it.

Exactly as Greenedmc mentioned. Checkout the link I posted below. @JustDSM is your man when it comes to tuning, he does charge to do the tune but it isn't much. ALSO if you have any modifications he can "optimize" the tune for your modifications by doing a log and sending the file back to him. Additionally if you do mods later on you can re-tune for those modifications at a later date. Even stock (like my truck) I noticed quite a difference in drive-ability in general. My favorite part is that it holds gears longer while going up hills on the interstate making it less shift happy. That makes the cruise control less erratic although there is no availability to modify the cruise control logic. Throttle response can be adjusted to your liking when requesting the tune. It truly makes the truck drive how you think it should have from the factory!

For those wanting the "perks" that come with tuning via the MPVI2, I've got the necessary harnesses to bench flash ECU's so folks interested can send me their (or a spare) ECU and I can flash it for them without them having to incur the cost of the MPVI2.

    Thanks @TacoFergie for the explanation!

Early on there were a few people that "bricked" their ECU. But it appeared to be a combination of 2 issues.

    1. HPT had made some updates to the software that made the read/write times a little longer. That was very quickly revised though, I think within a couple weeks once the complaints rolled in.

    2. Individuals not putting a charger on their battery while working doing the read/write functions or the charger not having enough output (10A+ is recommended). This is the most probable cause after reading the WHOLE thread (I was watching it from day one). I believe this is somewhat of a 2 part issue. Many people are not educated in this type of tuning and the amount of power it draws during read/write functions plus other accessories they forget to turn off during the process. Additionally many people of the people that know tuning like this already understand that a battery charger is necessary during the read/write function, to them that is common sense, but to people new to this it is not. I believe most people think of it as the same process as a BullyDog or other PNP tuners, but as you know comparing BullyDog to HPT is like comparing a house cat to a Lion....haha

But as with anything, there is always a risk when you add aftermarket parts/equipment. Heck even the tire you choose has dramatic risks if you choose the wrong one for your environment. But for me personally HPT is bar none the BEST risk vs reward or performance per dollar modification on the truck!
