Because they ditch the Curt hitch that is blocking access to the bottom bracket. You still need to drill 2 holes.

There's one on each side. So your solution to run an aftermarket bumper is to ditch the curt hitch, and buy a bumper with an integrated hitch. If you need the 90 degree brackets you can buy them on their own.

    upload_2020-2-29_14-4-6.jpg

Exactly. Those two holes are coming from the 90 degree bracket. That's why you don't have them. It only comes on a tow package trucks.

You are an angel, EatSleepTacos. And I really appreciate your lack of condescension towards a guy just learning the ropes.

You're welcome, I'm happy to help. I am hoping that it's all finally clicking now. It's hard to explain via the internet.

the frames are exactly the same.... other than the fact that the newer 3rd gean have a higher tensile strength steel, and better coating to prevent rust/corrosion.

So I guess you can install that one bolt the lower one, and bolt it on, and mark and drill 2 holes on each side... lol...

Fuck it...I'm going with this cheaper Body Armor Pro one. TC-2963-LIFESTYLE-01 (1).jpg

I can see in the instruction manual that it works with my setup. I have no sensors and it even looks like my aftermarket hitch will work with it. Anyone care to share any reasons why this bumper sucks? Thanks again for all of your feedback!

Interesting that the Hidden Hitch comes with the additional supporting bracket that connected to holes in the bottom of the frame, but Curt does not. :notsure: I'm wondering if the tow ratings are the same.

This tells me that OP (SR 2WD 4cyl.) probably has the holes and the welded nuts on the frame that the extra bracket bolts up to.

I guess that there is a 90 degree bracket that would go in place of the Curt and the two vertical bolt holes that IT occupies.

Do you happen to know the part number of the two 90 degree brackets that I need to buy now that I bought an OEM hitch? Would be much appreciated!

Says it fits 2005-2020, which I believe. More expensive than I thought but you could take that part number and look elsewhere, like on ebay. Or ask someone on here if they have them.
