And ill go ahead and show another option for those looking i haven't seen a FWC mentioned yet. We by no means live full time or even close. We do try to camp as much as we can with weekend trips. We also plan to take the FWC on multiple 2 week trips out to the midwest and up into Canada and quebec. Yea 2 weeks at a time sucks but me and my wife are both young in our careers currently and its all the time we can get away from our jobs. We just picked up a used FWC eagle and impressed with how much interior space it has.

RE #vanlife, I've been sporting around with VW Eurovan poptops the past two years. These are "Class B" in RV parlance, same as any van conversion like a Sprinter.

Kinda like it, nice to have that big side door, big rear hatch, passthrough from cab to living area, poptop.

#vanlife isn't the be-all, end-all for offgrid, Class B's are just one option. As said above, Class B 4WD availability is limited, and that's a big deal. Anyway I've been researching Class B's since they're a pretty good versatile offgrid option.

    4WD:
    - Sprinter. Factory 4WD, diesel ONLY.
    - VW Vanagon Syncro. Factory 4WD. Old.
    - Sportsmobile. Aftermarket 4WD van conversions. Quigley 4WD conversion.

And that's about it for 4WD van conversions. Quigley will convert any van to 4WD, there's some other smaller players for 4WD conversions, but Quigley is the big dog.

    AWD:
    - Toyota Sienna.
    - 2020 Ford Transit.

    FWD/RWD:
    - Too many to list. Domestics, imports, still see domestic RWD Class B's on the road from the 70's and 80's.

Poptop and hightop van custom conversions:
    - Sportsmobile
    - GTRV
    - CaveVan
    - PleasureWay

There's plenty more outfits doing van conversions, including the big players like Winnebago. Reasonable cost always factors in.

I guess the bottom line is how much you can spend, how far off pavement you want to go, how much comfort or lack of you can deal with.

I've been a big fan of VW poptops for a long time. Only owned 2WD's, but they're surprisingly good offroad.
