Beware of East Detailing!!

I purchased a steering wheel cover for my truck from East Detailing on February 2nd. I was given an estimated delivery day of 14-21 days from the date purchased. I should have received my product that I paid for on the 24th at the latest. I have yet to receive any form of shipping confirmation (2/26) and my account was billed $39.99 immediately.

I have tried to contact the company everyday for the past week and a half without any type of response. The website now shows all products out of stock as of 5 days ago.

With no response from the company and no product, I decided to file a claim with my bank. Hopefully this is resolved and I get my money back, but I highly advise that people do NOT do business with this company. Others have had perfect luck, but it seems like the company randomly went belly up or something. Truly a shame as they made a pretty cool product and I was excited to get it, but this is to the point where it's ridiculous that they will not respond to my emails and there is no phone number to call.

Any advice on how to further handle this would be appreciated.

 

contact your credit card company maybe they can help with it

 

I did, started a claim

 

basically that's all you can do at the moment, hopefully the CC company can stop any payment or recoup it

 

I ordered mine on Feb 5 and they replied next day with this email .
They also charged my papal Feb 5 . Emailed them yesterday and today . No reply . Will file claim with paypal in couple days if they dont reply back.

 

dude that is the sketchiest looking website I have ever seen. And I go incognito mode and peruse some sketchy websites.

Contact us is only through email, no phone, no address, no social media (a requirement nowadays)

Also, looks to me like their website is closing up shop or being remade. Although if it was my money on the line I would err on the side of caution and assume the worst

 

Lol, I couldn’t even get to their product page. Then I found a way and everything goes to a different link. Why in the hell would anyone buy from some place like this. And people wonder why they get scammed.


Btw if anyone wants I’ll send them a check for 5k. All they have to do is cash it and send me 3k back. That’s a free 2k for you. Pm me for details

 

When I ordered this the site I got . Had members here that orderd with them no problems .Never seen the page @whatstcp posted .Could be one of those pelfrreybilt shit thing going on . Site worked for me Not worried about being scammed . Went with paypal.

the website looked nothing like that when I ordered and multiple people had good luck with the company so I figured I’d try it out. Seems to be a Pelfreybilt-like company situation.

 

ah then I would hope that they are just remaking it. But the complete lack of communication on their website, over email, and facebook (found it on a separate search) doesn't bode well.

Hope for the best, plan for the worst. File a claim (like you already did), get your money back, and continue to monitor. If they come back from whatever is going on, awesome! and place another order. But for now play it safe

 

Honestly don’t even want the cover anymore after this experience even if they fix their issue

 

So paypal got info from East Detail and they going to be refunding my money . Don't know why they just don't reply back to emails . Really only nice option for leather wrap was from them .Going be hunting local parts yard for 2012 wheel and air bag.

 

So got email from East Detailing saying order accepted and shipment tracking number . So Web site says out of stock yet .

 

i just got the same email. I ordered on Feb 1st and received several emails responses to emails I have sent them. I even got refunded $10 at the end of Feb. now waiting to see if anything actually ships or if this was a ploy for me to to file a claim against them. We will see. They have ghosted new lately.

 

Yea tracking number only 13 characters intead of 20 . Tried tracking still says tracking number created but not in system . Going let paypal take care of problem . Paypal says they going refund my money but east detailsays another thing . I dont trust them .
Might be better to file a claim .

Edit . They never responded to my emails .

 

File the claim and get your money back. Once you have your money then you can choose to give them another shot. Or not. But don't let them hold your money until it's too late to file a claim.

 

Yea papal handling claim now. Will get in touch with them and foward email to them .

 

So got email from easr detail saying the factory in china back up and running . Dont know why they didnt explain to customers in the first place. Still going to try to get refund . Picked up redline goods full wrap.



Only got this reply back to my email TODAY I emailed them in mid Feb.

 

Damn yeah that's just bad business practice. Would have been better to just label everything out of stock to prevent orders and throw that announcement on their home page so anyone could be a little more at ease that it was a temporary thing and not a pelfrey thing. Glad to hear of an update and we shall see where they are in the next month or so.
