My 2006 4.0 was leaking when I got it at 30k miles 3 years ago. I thought that was a bit early for a leak. It now has 104 and the leak hasn’t gotten worse. No drips on my concrete driveway. I took it to the dealership and they told me to just leave it alone or put caulk on it!!!! Really?? It doesn’t bother me and like you said it doesn’t register on the dip stick between changes but it’s still annoying. I just try to forget about it. They say it’s not a Toyota if it doesn’t leak oil. :notsure:

The only problem I have with that is where you said "they said" .

Yeah Well Dave Edwards Toyota has never been known to be “too smart”. The only Toyota dealership near me. I took my truck there just to see what they would charge to fix it. If it continues to seep oil im fine with it. 3 years later still no drip on my driveway and it’s not any worse. If/when the time comes to fix it I will. I bought it bone stock and Don’t ever plan on selling the truck. It will always be a secondary vehicle and I’m planning on SAS at some point. B013826E-8470-4FBE-937A-159DA76AEB75.jpg

Clean that motor real good then drive for a few days, weeks, to see if you can pinpoint the location.

Dawn detergent in a spray bottle mixed 10 to 1, spray the motor with a garden hose, scrub with brush, rinse, repeat as necessary. Start the motor after and let it run for 10 or so minutes.

I've used the powder in warm or hot water let it dissolve and use it in a spray bottle.

Good idea I'll try that. I have some Autozone degreaser but I dont like that it's possibly flammable.

It is not covered under warranty because, 1) I am at 60,150.00 in miles so the 150 miles- done deal with Toyota- and Toyota after care customer service. 2) I have not had my truck serviced at a Toyota dealer, i.e. oil changes etc, and so they do not trust Greg's Japanese Auto (A certified Toyota repair shop). Now its trying to figure out if this is something I can do or should have a professional do it(most likely professional). All of the sites and recommendations on the web are very weak at best. If you have any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.
    Thank you

Got a few more pics the issue is the area of the motor that has oil all over it is really hard to get to. I am unsure on how to clean it. Again, no oil on the dip stick is low but it leaks enough where there is a dime size drop if parked overnight. Not sure what to do or how to clean it with it being so tight.

Took my truck to the dealer for repair estimate. They quoted $ 5G's. Damm. I missed the warranty by 53 miles literally. I tried Toyota care but they gave me the same speak, 5 yrs 60K miles. Too bad for you. They also claimed that since I did not take my truck to a dealership for normal oil changes they cannot accept the certified Toyota repair shops word. Another way to screw the little guy.

For the front timing chain cover? That’s insane. That’s the hard part about these warranties is they will find anyway to get out of them. Same thing with wife’s Kia I took it to an independent shop for oil changes and they fought me when it needed work done.

I say just let it drip lol.
