    That not how any of this works. The fact that you haven't had the flu is probably more to herd immunity and luck. The only way to build "natural" immunity is to get the vaccine or the disease.

    I'm at a complete loss why people don't get vaccinated for preventable diseases. Imagine getting the flu and Corona at the same time. No don't, it's just too sad to think about.

    Math people... lets say their are hypothetically 20,000 people infected (in the USA) on March 14th (Ro2 and assuming numbers double everyday (thought experiment, not real))... March 15th - 40,000... (20,000 * 2^7) = 2,560,000 people infected on March 21st... 80% are asymptomatic to mild symptoms = 2.05 mill... leaving 512,000 severely symptomatic... 15% of need hospitalization = 384,000... and having a overall mortality rate of 1.5% = 38,400 deaths... this is just a thought experiment and only for educational purposes since it is much more complex than this but this is how exponential growth can overwhelm you before you even realize it.

    While we appreciate all the separate Chat with the Staff threads, dedicated PM's, and external communication, it's clear that this topic cannot be sustained and follow the TacomaWorld Code of Conduct. While some of you think that this was just "jberry having a bad day," the entire TW staff tried diligently to keep this new thread flowing with factual information, with myself being the scapegoat, while trying to mitigate the political, personal attacks, retribution, religious, ethnic, social media shitposting, and even crowdsourcing aspects. As such, the staff has decided to keep this thread locked but not removed from public view. To put things in perspective, this thread alone has had so many reports that the the 8-bit unsigned report counter overflowed. Those of you hitting F5 repeatedly might have noticed the crash. We realize this is a sensitive time in the current state of affairs, but at the end of the day, this is a Toyota enthusiast site.
