The o11 is a $120-150 case not 300-400 (though I'm sure they have silly options so you could spend that much).

High static fans do help some but yup they do hinder things especially in the side to side mounting vs front to back in my experience.

I do believe he has the upgraded cooler and not the default one from AMD. The wraith or whatever it's called which should be handling his cpu just fine. I was actually surprised at some of the quality on the amd coolers. Plotting for flatness had them "flatter" than noctua. Though not enough to make a real world difference imo

Though I do recommend the noctua too. The bequiet offering is pretty good too.

Did you try to hyperlink something?

I'll see if they're removable, I only have 2 spinning drives and 3 SSD's in the case. so I don't need all of the drive spaces.

I did set the fans to be more aggressive, I'm wondering if I should flip one or both of the exhaust fans on the top (make them intake) and make the front fans exhaust.

The cooler would be fine if the case flowed better, the 2600 it's on is only 65 watt TDP and it's a stock cooler for 95 Watt chips.
I did look at the Noctua Chromax but I like the subtle RGB (I know, I know).

Sorry yes I meant to link this just as an example of a case that with the right fan setup can dump heat no problem. https://www.newegg.ca/black-corsair...CiSZLNMi4eauCMOEaaQbMOwN0ut2uUVMaAq3uEALw_wcB

Lots of options out there just don't go overboard on size IMHO for your needs.

Front should always be intake and rear/top exhaust in general. Your problem is, as the other poster stated, that the drive trays sitting across the case are blocking airflow especially if your fans aren't great at providing static pressure.

Yeah the base is 150 but by the time you have a decent fan setup in one, given their size, you're looking at decent coin. They hold what, a dozen plus fans in the optimal configuration? With so much room internally you can't really cut out that many fans before it turns into an easy bake oven. Plus the special editions are crazy money, they have a Razer version IIRC that's just a badge and RGB strips for over 350. Again for a bigger build I'd be right with you on it as a recommendation but I think it's really too much case for him.

I've built 5-6 Ryzen rigs now and, yeah, the Wraith is a great stock cooler but it has limited overclocking head room. If anything in the case is setup wrong it can easily let thermals get out of hand if the Ryzen chip attempts to hold boost for long periods of time. I'm guessing that's what's happening. Folding@Home can grab a good chunk of GPU resources and the CPU is holding boost trying to keep the GPU fed with information from the package downloaded to the drive.

Either a better case with more airflow or fixing the airflow in the case he has should fix his issues but if he wants sub 80c temperatures out of a Ryzen 95 w or 105 w chip during long periods of heavy use a new CPU cooler is a good idea. I agree Be Quiet makes a few good ones, just avoid the new Corsair air cooler. That thing isn't very good for its cost.

Just got my Scythe Mugen 5 rev. B cpu cooler delivered today :bananadance: ready to rip out the shitty $15 cooler cyberpowerpc puts in the system. Also had a weird issue last night with my gpu temps. It’s an xfx rx580 8gb. Normally it peaks at 74-75 degrees and the fans kick into high gear and knock it down into the 60s. Last night, it was stuck all the way at 84 degrees and wasn’t really budging until I went into the AMD settings and manually changed the curve to get temps under control.

Try updating your drivers. There was a weird issue with some AMD drivers where the stock fan profiles were getting messed up.

Yeah I updated about a week ago to 20.2.2 and it had been fine until last night. I turned off/unplugged my computer trying to fix the little gpu sag I have and then high temps started. I only unplugged and plugged the gpu back in

Thinking about these fans for the case, 3 intake on the front and then 2 exhaust, either one back and one too or both up top.
    What do y’all think?

Those are cheap fans. As in the RGB in that fan is worth more than the bearing. I'd either go with non RGB fans at that price point or step up to a better fan. Just my two cents though.

What price point would you look at for RGB fans?

Honestly yeah I'd go up not that high but into the higher end lineup for sure. Those 4 RGB fans look like garbage installed. In the ads they show them lit completely but really you just see four points of light and your fan a bit lol. Rings look okay if you like that. I personally splurge for the maglev fans because I hate noise but to each his own.

The Corsair Icue SP120 seems to be a decent option for not a whole lot more, hydraulic bearing instead of magnetic but noise really doesn’t bother me that badly.

I put those in my brothers build. They look good. Hydraulic is great, don't get me wrong, and it'll be quiet I'd just avoid fans where you can tell that more money is sunk in looks than performance. If a fan doesn't emphasize it's MTF (mean time to failure) it's not likely worth buying. There are lots of good cheap options. I usually run Arctics cheaper fans if I'm buying hydraulic fans but I don't think they make RGB. The Corsairs are a nice choice. Thermaltake makes some good fans as well with RGB.

On top is usually better than floor anyways. Usually the desk provides more access to air and a cleaner local space than the floor.
