I use bottle jacks on my wife's car but now with my Tacoma it doesn't work. I have a 3 inch lift on mine with 33's as well. I am looking for something I can use to jack it up by the frame on the side just so I can rotate tires front to rear.

Any suggestions or what do you use?

I went with a Hi-Lift. My logic being, I need to be able to change a flat as well, and I won't be carrying a floor jack around with me all the time. Caveat: must have sliders or another lift point installed to use a Hi Lift.

Many will caution against using a Hi-Lift, but operated correctly and safely and using jack stands for the actual support shouldn't present any necessary risk.

My only complaint is the front axle is off; I only get 3 wheels contacting. I just place a piece of conveyor belt underneath to shim it.

OP, if you can, pull it out and test before buying.

For home use you should get jack a nice 3 ton jack, I picked one up at harbor frieght for like $75 a couple years ago. Still working great. For emergencies I keep a 6" piece of 4x4 in the truck to wedge between the bottle jack and truck because of the lift.

Use cribbing to raise the jack up. And then taller jack stands. No need to replace the jack. It is still rated to lift the vehicle. This is used for heavy equipment support regularly. So done properly it is perfectly safe.2011-12-02_13-28-49_864.jpg

I have the jack and jack stands just wondered if there is a way to use like a high jack from the middle of the truck instead of jacking up and using the stands

It’s just safer to always use stands. One day, the jack will fail. It’s inevitable.

Use a high lift floor jack with high lift jack stands! Don’t get lazy for that “quick” check or grease that, etc....my friends son was a mechanic worked out of his house, went under for a quick job, jack slipped, car fell on him and he lost his life! Safety first home or not, be prepared.......

I have an older harbor freight jack that doesn't get quite as high. I also have the next size smaller stands. They are kind of a pain in the ass to use. I really need to buy that jack and a set of 6 ton stands. :(

I put the jack under the lower control arm in the front and under the axle in the rear. Up, then put the jack stand under the frame, remove the wheel and lower the jack.

I think he means jack up in the middle and put both jackstands in at once instead of jacking up each side to add the stands. I have't lifted my truck yet but usually on the K member there will be a spot to put a jack to lift the front at once and can use the pumpkin for the back.
