I would probably just permanently ground it. I assume it works the same as the radio, where you only need the bypasses to enable video playback. This device doesn’t do video so it shouldn’t be a problem. Pioneer menus and settings are all enabled and work properly when the brake wire is permanently grounded, so that would be my suggestion.

Thanks Destin ! Could I just tie it in with my amp ground in the back of the truck or should I go through the harness. Probably no difference ?

No difference at all. Ground is ground. I would just combine it with the actual ground of the DSP itself. No need for any more wiring than necessary

Awesome, thanks for being so quick on the reply.
Figured while I'm out of work I'll rewire everything and run my comps active. Got nothing but time right now

Hey one more question. As it is now I have a t harness with 9 wire and rca adapters. You think I could just plug the adapters into the dsp or should I just go speaker level and use each wire

I'm trying to hook up my new pioneer dmh-2660nex and having issues with parking brake. idatalink says our trucks don't work with the brake pass through so it has to be tapped directly. Which wire do I need to tap? I don't care to bypass as I don't intend to watch movies on this; I just need to be able to do initial bluetooth setup.
