Its so bad here that I drive a beater vehicle in the winter to rust out instead.
Odd though because my Taco was from Wisconsin and was absolutely spotless so I guess it depends if the prior owner gave a crap.

Oh NO!, I'm finding myself looking at Tundra more and more these days. Craving for more POWER and room space for the family. I'm telling myself to wait for the redesign maybe in 2022? and maybe few years after the Tundra redesign for a Tundra TRD Pro version....

Currently a 2016 Tacoma DCLB w/ 40k miles, maybe getting around 16MPG with (2.5"-3" lift/33stire/5.29 ReGear + ECT always On Mod) so my Tacoma isn't the best at MPG and based on that Tundra MPG doesn't look too bad.

    Ditto..
I sold my Taco on March 10th right before the shit hit the fan with zero idea what was about to happen in the US.. Now all of the inferno TRD-Off Roads I've found are over 1k miles away. My happy ass was just deathly ill with a fever and cough a couple weeks ago so i'm not going to get on a plane and risk getting others sick if i'm still contagious. They've been lynch-mobbing people with out of state plates up here in Maine (buncha hillbillies dropped a tree across a driveway belonging to people with NJ plates that wouldn't self-quarantine). I don't dare venture out of state with the mentality that people are displaying.

On the flip side.. you can probably get a killer deal on a Tundra right now!

Going to act on one this weekend. 2017 trade in at an Audi Dealership. They tack on 299 from kahu tracker and they won't remove it. Also gave me a good price and now trying to upsale a 5 yr bumper to bumper warranty for $2200. I can't do that warranty.

Those warranties are bogus dealer tack ons. I've always said no to them, and consequently watched them offer them at 2k, then 1k, then say offer at cost and ask for 800 or less, theyre all arbitrary numbers. Unless you plan to spend 2200 in repairs outside of warranty on a truck that already has a 5yr warranty, I'd hard pass. If you do though Im afraid the Tundra will let you down, as I dont see you spending that $2200.

Without the mods on a Tundra, you can get 16mpg with most highway driving. 13-15 with city. All assuming you're driving it easy. Now obviously if you start doing the same type of mods (lift, tires, regear) then you drop out of the teens easily.

I do alright with a Pro, which is already lifted about 2" up front. To and from work average 15.5ish MPG, usually a hair higher. The same trip in my MT Taco would get about 17 mpg. Once the Tacoma got lifted and had 295s it was getting 16 with adjustment for the speedo being off.

The real issue is, with the tundra and the noise from the exhaust, its way too easy to get 13mpg. :burnrubber:

Finally said goodbye to my Taco! New owner drove it off my driveway. He will be happy with it. Crazy good info on this forum helped with 3 years of ownership. Now onto Tundras.com.

Audi Rockville wasn't messing around with covid19. Everyone except for finance guys had masks and gloves. I had a friend check it over for me and I took his word for it. Drove 2 hrs and purchased it!

I traded my 2015 tacoma for my tundra back in 2017. After almost 3 years of owning it, i still find myself wishing i had my tacoma back at times. I had a 6' bed vs 5.5 with tundra, interior storage wins for the tacoma with both underseat and behind rear seat storage bins since the tundra has absolutely no storage whatsoever, and gas mileage is a consistent 14mpg in stock tundra vs 18-19 in tacoma. Not to mention the insurance was cheaper on the tacoma obviously. 2 kids/carseats would have been a tight squeeze in the tacoma though.

Definitely miss the small compartments in the bed and backseat storage in the Tacoma. Will see in the long run. I really only stored my ratchet ties/bungees in the bed compartments. The bed height of the tundra will take time to get use to it.
Wife, kids and I love the ride though.

I did love my 2nd gen Tacoma but once I had my family it just wasn’t good anymore. I went to the 4Runner which is a great vehicle but I just don’t enjoy it. I am currently in the process of working out numbers on a new Tundra. Everything you said was spot on...

Dealers up here are high af right now. Quoted $47k w/o taxes bla bla for a voodoo TRD OffRoad after the kid quoting and pushing a TRD Sport in calvary blue on me for two days and me saying for two days I didnt want that color nor configuration. Trying to unload their in-stock shit as usual.
Im holding out for that 2018 inferno TRD if it ever pops up.. if I dont get orange, i’m gonna be mad every time I see one go past me. I already yell “GIMME YOUR TRUCK” that couple times per year I do see those elusive infernos up here

That inferno is a hot a$& color. I have my eyes set on a 2020 DC TRD Offroad SR5 fully loaded (bed liner, steps, the high end audio) in cement. 41k without taxes.

That was my second color choice! Almost found my truck today 2 hrs away til i got more pics. Rusted to shit already, tabs and bumper are jacked. Dealership initially denied but then say “No theyre fine, theyre not that bent.” Im going to be towing a shitload and dont want to be questioning the integrity of my hitch with a $25k camper or $45k in tractor/trailer hanging off it. I wish they still sold the orange, i’d just buy new. Damn it. 0CE44FAF-47DA-4579-A48C-5104C3D007E1.jpgE2CFBCE0-8A6E-4C4F-A43F-BB237107C8FE.jpg0F9EA238-CADB-4389-8946-152A60B1F3DF.jpg

    A.) That’s definitely bent

B.) Who the heck knows what was done to that truck...hence why I am extremely leery about buying any used 4x4s.

C.) I didn’t realize how good that color looks in a TRD Offroad...now you really got me wishing they still made that color.
