I found these switches when looking for something to control my rear bumper lights. I wanted a way to have the lights: always off, always on, or only on with reverse lights.
I also wanted to break up the monotony of a row of toggle style switches. I found these and figured that, in the dark it would be easy enough to differentiate and not have to count over how many switches I needed, or peek over at the etched labels. Plus, it adds another layer of uniqueness to my truck.
I reviewed the potiential switch circuits avalaiable on the Carling site. https://www.carlingtech.com/rotary-switches-V-Series
You need to download the data sheets to get to the PDF of the options available.
    I found a supplier in onlinecomponents https://www.onlinecomponents.com/carling-technologies/rv26d2fcehbk4c-51164799.html
A SPDT was originaly chosen, but after I ordered, I was notified this style was no longer in stock and would not longer be offered. So I had to cancel the order and place a new order for DPDT. Not a real big issue. There would just be some terminals I wouldn't use.

The first thing I did was check fitment.
    1.jpg 2.jpg
3.jpg It fit right in to the left side cubby switch plate that is made for the Carling style switches.
When cycled through left, right, and center positions, there is a positive stop and no signs of interference with the switch in the next pocket.
As expected, it will not fit into a switch plate that is designed for the tall skinny Toyota switches. 4.jpg 5.jpg

I optioned the switch so that the LED in the center position is blue, and would only be on with the dashboard lights. Then one of the on positions would have a green indicator and the other would be red. Green would signify, the "auto on with reverse lights" and red would be for "always on". I figured I would hook up my power supply and a couple of LED's to simulated loads. I wanted to see what the colors looked like. First the setup.
    6.jpg 7.jpg 8.jpg
As I was reviewing the pin out, I noticed that the red and green indicators are only active when one of the poles is used. That is the set up I tried first. I took pictures with the room lights on and off to get a good simulation of what the switch illumination would be. The colors are a little off in the pictures due to the camera, but, they are bright and noticeable.
    9.jpg 9a.jpg 10.jpg 10a.jpg 11.jpg 11a.jpg
The next picture was an accident but VERY important. Even if you don't want the center position LED, you still have to hook up the LED ground, or the other 2 LED's won't light up when the circuit is active.

I next wanted to see what happened if I wired the loads to the "other" pole. Short answer, the indicators are a lighter shade of blue rather than green or red.
    14.jpg 14a.jpg 15.jpg 15a.jpg
This then lead to the question, "What if the switch is wired as a true DPDT, 2 sources and 2 sets of loads?". So, I wired up both poles, and added a second set of load LED's.
Short answer, it goes back to red and green indicator colors.

My next step is to get it reinstalled in the truck and get the bumper lights hooked up. I'll report back when I get everything going.

    A bit...
I have ordered a custom MESO switch panel to house these. I will expand my write up when it arrives and I get the switches installed, but, the intent is this:
I currently have a traditional "up, Middle, down" toggle that is used to go between Nav override, normal operation, anytime rear camera. This will get replaced with a rotary style.

Two more switches will be installed to the left of it, to give me 3 rotaries across the panel.

The far left switch will be set up to be: Left=front LED bar on demand, right=LED bar on with High beams, middle position-normal operations (high beam only when activated).
The center switch will be a similar set up but for rear bumper lights. Left = on demand, right=bumper lights come on with reverse lights, center=back up lights only in reverse

All the circuits are worked out, I just need to get the thing installed and get the switches wired up.

As far as the relays go, I got that figured out. I did not get any work done to get the high beams or additional back up lights to get them actually wired in yet. So for now the two "outside" switches are just for looks. I do have them wired into the dashboard illumination so the indicators come on when I turn on the head lights, and I can dim the blue lights.
My MESO panel wouldn't work with the Genesis G screen, so I had to abandon that setup and do some minor surgery on the original facia panel and rearrange the G screen ribbon cable to fit properly.

Short answer, if you don't care about the actual switch, and just want the "off" "on", "auto" you can get it with the wiring set up that comes with the Rigid Industries 980033 auxiliary backup lights.

If you want to use your own switch and relay, there are a couple threads on TW that talk about doing it with the fog lights, AUX lights, LED bars, etc. where you can put a diode into the circuit to prevent the OEM reverse lights from coming on when you put the switch into the "on" position.
However, with this particular switch, since it is DPDT, you can getaway without the diode. I left out the independent lamp connection in this sketch, but it is on the switch. I am assigning pin 2 in the switch, the 12 V rather than pin 5, to make sure the dependent lamps always have power when the switch is not in the center position. If you do it the other way around, the lamp tied to pin 1, will only come on when you are actually in reverse, and won't be on during forward travel. It's not a functional problem, You just won't be able to glance at the switch and see the color to determine what "mode" you have it set for.

I have the center switch set up for navigation block override and "anytime" rear Camera. This one was a little tricky due to the way the circuits have to work, so a special switch is needed. The part number is RV61D2S000B-KZC. I could not find this particular switch available with any illumination circuits. So, I set it up a the middle switch, in the row, for esthetics.
    4a.jpg 5a.jpg

I got my nav block override/anytime rear camera harness, some time ago for a member who no longer sells the set-up. But there are a couple of threads on TW about how to do it on your own. I'm sure there are some harnesses for sale out there by other members now.
I connected the two wires for nav block override to pins 4 and 5. So, when pins 4 and 5 are connected, you have normal operation. When 4 and 5 are not connected, you override the nav block.
I connected the two wires for anytime rear camera to pins 1 and 2. So, when pins 1 and 2 are not connected, you have normal operation. When 1 and 2 are not connected, you have "anytime" rear camera.
In this configuration, switch turned left is nav block override, center position is "normal" operations, and switch turned to the right, is anytime rear camera.
