Yeah, haven't done anything to the truck or gone on a trip in a while.

Had to replace the batteries and still trying to figure some noises out. But all in all it sits in the driveway.

Well, I finally pulled the trigger, after the last river crossing and all the dust I have been running through, I ordered a snorkle from airflow, this is what it looks like.

Yeah my funds take a while to catch up. Everything goes into maintaining the truck now. This is a direct result of nothing to do.

Ok I am moving the discussion here instead of the 50 thread. What are you running now for rear suspension? I'm aways curious as my uses and build for my uses is different than most are.
I went to Overland Expo here last fall with a local guy. We ran into Eric from Archive and the dude I was with had a multitude of questions which took over an hour Eric is very patient but also knows his shit. I pad attention to what they were discussing then simply asked about the hangers. He asked me about how I was currently set up in the rear and all about my uses of the truck. He took the time to explain the bennifits of the hangers. Before Christmas I PM'd him and we went over it again. Instead of trying to sell me his shackles or other stuff he set me up with exactly what I needed. I ordered the hangers, the polly bushings for the shackles (side note if you ever decide to replace the OEM bushings in the stock shackles do yourself a favor and order a set with no bushings they aren't expensive and removing the stock bushings is a real pain in the ass) , and I also ordered the drill bits from him for drilling out the rivets i the frame for the hangers. They are really good bits. I did a small write up in my build it's on the current last page I believe. The hangers are beefy as hell all 1/4" steel well engineered and well built. I did not order the cross tube for the hangers as I will fab that up this weekend hopefully.
With the Deavers the hangers only give about 1/4- 1/2" lift which was good for me as I am high in the back anyway. They do provide more flex, about an inch I believe. The main bennifits, for me, is they really tighten things up especially with the swingouts and towing the camper. There is a deffinate noticeable improvement in daily driving.
When I fab the cross tube with the addition of the hangers and extended brake lines the rear suspension is done. When things get back to normal I need to strt looking at the front. Honestly the front is ok I have just been kicking around upgrding the 5100's to something different as my 3" lift in the front is now down to about 1 1/2" with the weight of armor. Everything works good and i have good CV angles so no hurry.

It really came down to cost on the hangers. The angle isn't the best on the rear shocks but I got a set of smooth kings with reservoirs that were tuned and the proper size, right off the shelf from baja designs. The deavers gave me the lift i wanted and i made up for the hangers with a shakle flip. It SEEMS to give me a little more droop. I have no proof of this, nor do I care to prove it.

The back end has never been an issue and I am fine with the setup. Probable have 100k on the shocks, just not sure when I will rebuild them.

Now the front...i would love to upgrade the LCAs, they take the most abuse but I have to say the OEMs are still doing well, I did replace the bushings and there is armor on them but at $1700, I am not looking at an upgrade.

I plan on sticking with the OEM LCA's myself. There is a member here that rebuilds them with the Whiteline bushings and greaseable ball joints. He also welds all the seems shut and reinforces the bushng bores so i may get hum to build a set or it's a good excuse to buy a press and do it myself. I'll figure out a way to protect the alignment cams and maybe gusset the spindels but half of that is just me wanting to do stuff I don't really need it as I just don't wheel that hard. Honestly, my back can't handle the rocks. I just enjoy doing the work.
The struts are what I am really considering upgrading. I remember my discussion with Crom and his personal suggestion of the 6112's for what I do. I just have it hung in my head I don't want to have to adjust the clip on the strut to achieve lift I'd rather find longer coils. Oh well that's a ways of anyway.
BTW have you seen or heard from Crom I haven't just wondering how he is

First off, if you are sagging in the front, get 700# springs, that will take care if that issue.

Second, Nick just liked the posts, so he is around

Yeah I think I have 600# springs with the Eibachs but IDK if anybody makes 700# springs for 5100's in fact they don't even recomend 886's for 5100's so there is that. It all works well just high in the back but the rear is sitting at 4" lift with the Deavers and that's with the bumper and swingouts

Same here. I miss Death Valley. Last trip was when rolled with you. The pics are on my TV screen saver and I love it when they show. :)

Thanks for the reminder. My starter is looking pretty bad and I'm going to swap it with a fresh one, soon.

    fun to install.:fingerscrossed:

I've been good. Focused on my family and career. Not done too much outings except one per season, summer, winter and this spring, missed fall last year. I'll try to post a pic in my build if I ever sit down at my computer again. Good chance too, with the work at home situation.

Good to hear from you and that all is well just busy. Enjoy the kids while you can, every minute, they grow so quickly and are gone before you know it. Last year was a rough one with loosing my job and my wife's father having a major stroke it all made the yer very unsetled to put it mildly. With me starting a new job, which has little time off and her father passing on halloween we were only able to go camping twice. We were hoping this year would be better and now all this happens. I'm not complaining I just hope we all get out of this ok. There is too much sadness going on around the world and while my immediate concern is with my families well being I can't help but feel really bad for everybody efected so far. Stay safe

Yeah, still have to deal with the other end not fitting in the engine bay hole. Also want to pull the body of the snorkel out a little and do a better seal job and get that stupid top stud
