I live near them and pick the parts up myself. The last load bars I got, I even installed in their parking lot after all the employees left. They seem to have new employees in the showroom and likely have new employees in the warehouse/shipping dept since I first started shopping there two years ago. Either way, the packaging looks similar. I also had one or two packages that had two cut up boxes setup in a telescoping fashion and taped together. Not sure if yours came from their CA warehouse or from South Africa. I'm guessing the people in the warehouse could've packaged yours better and/or the shipping company could've handled your shipment better. Sorry about your experience being like that with their products. I ain't gonna defend them on that. However, if it helps your having more peace about it, hit up their customer service and test how good they are about handling that issue with the powder coating. They have their own cans of touch up spray. Maybe, they'll send one out to you.

Hey man, I'm looking to pretty much do a very similar setup as you. I'm running my FRO rack on the bed rails-- but I want to get a diamond back to store all my crap securely. Hows the track system you're using from FRO? You get the rack loaded with some weight and slop around off road yet? How much did the brackets and track run you?

Here is a part list.. I originally ordered just 2 bars and then decided to make the basket.. It's a little cheaper cause I have a propane holder and the straps.. but everything else, if you email frontrunner the part numbers and you set up an account on there page. They will add everything to your cart to order.. its pretty awesome. Their customer service is soo helpful. I believe you can get the same thing if you go to the truck bed sets and the colorado is the one thats exactly the same.. I would just recommend the larger cleats that go in the rails.. you will have to cut the rails in 3 sections to fit on the cover and drill all the holes.

    Hope this helped.

I have the SE version with only one crossmember on each panel. This mod will allow me to mount some gear under my cover and provide some more support to the top of my cover (similar to the HD version). In addition to that, I don't have to drill into my cover. Before adding these 2x4 crossmembers I've notice that the panels does sink in a little when I'm on top of it in the areas where there wasn't a crossmember. Now that I've added them, the panels are much more solid when I'm on top of it.

Next, I plan to add some Quick Fist tool mount and maybe some magnetic tool holder onto the 2x4.

On the tailgate panel, I also added some motion sensor lights that only comes on if it's dark.

Shoutout to Dirty Parts - I love that place.

Hey quick question guys - I have a dometic cooler that has a height of approximately 22 inches. It is slightly taller than the bed of my truck. Are these covers completely flush with the top of the bed? It looks like on the website that the covers raise up approx 1-2 inches to provide slightly more clearance.

@kowloontong The top raises up up a bit, but there are u-shaped studs in it for structural support. On the HD, there is only 5-6" between the studs. Maybe someone can measure the space between the studs on an SE. If there is enough of a gap between the studs you could maybe fit it in between the studs.

It won't fit. I have a DB cover and did extensive measuring and researching of fridges. None of them will play nicely with a DB cover unfortunately.

My solution was to take out the back seat and build a platform to put the fridge on.

Check out this post below and see how far the rabbit hole goes with papadave’s build.
It may help you with trying to get the fridge under the Diamondback cover. I use a CFX 50, but prefer to have it in the back seat area for easier accessibility while mobile. Although, I think it’s shorter than what you may have.

Rabbit hole? More like an elephant hole :)

22” is gonna be too tall. Our bedsides are about 19.5-20” I believe. I have the Dometic 75DZ and it will just clear. I have a build thread on a DB cover and the Voodoo rack system btw.

Lol... true, your build gets extensive. As for the person’s fridge I figured that a 22” height may be too tall going off of the measurement I took a while back with the HD I’m using. I was hoping that maybe the SE may have enough clearance somewhere underneath to fit their fridge while doing that rod flip mod you did. Although, I was not sure if that mod of inverting the locking arm could still lock the rear cover.
