Hawaii DOT Suspending Issuing Of Safety Checks?

Anyone recently try and renew safety during this COVID-19 panic? I was told DOT told the stations not to issue for the rest of the month. I tried searching, but couldn't find anything. Called up a shop and got the sane response. Safety expires this month.

Periodic Motor Vehicle Inspection (Safety Check)

The annual safety check requirement is suspended, and no safety checks will be done through the month of April. If your safety check is expired, it will remain valid through May 31. Also, you may renew your vehicle registration online or with your expired safety check certificate during this grace period.

 

Not sure of details there but oklahoma has stated I believe from Feb forward no drivers license will be considered expired at this time and not to try to renew it until further notice.
