2" squaring tubing around my area is all around 50 bucks a stick. You think that is not a good deal or what?

Edit: just notice 17" and not feet haha my bad, yeah that ridiculous

Yeah, I was gonna say I splurged as a "hobbyist" with my Hobart 210 for "home projects"... and that doesn't shine a light to any of the machines you listed LMAO. Guess we have different definitions! Those suitcase welders seem pretty bad ass having multi volt/process.

Wow I would take 10 of 20' right off the bat that is a great price. If I was close.

My last quote was $120.00 for a 24' length back before all this virus started

Most often it comes in 24' or 48' lengths

    Look at https://www.metalsdepot.com/

I've ordered plenty from them over the years. Shipping is cheaper if you can receive your steel at a business address. Short pieces, too!

Tube usually comes in 24' lengths. Oddly enough, pipe comes in 21' lengths. Don't ask me why.

I went and got this welder and torch today. Stopped by my work and unloaded them cause I don’t have room in my shop at home for them. I wanted to see if the welder works, it does. As I was trying it out a mechanic from across the street came in and ask about it. He said how much? I said for the welder with the empty tank, harbor freight helmet, and one drop cord, $300. He said I’ll pick it up Monday.

The torch is a Harris and both tanks are half full. Works great. I’m gonna switch the gauges and head out on one of the cheap ones I have at home and sell it with the tanks.

I doubled my money and have a free torch and drop cord :D

We have two suppliers we buy square tubing from, one only sells 20’ and the other one 24’. The 20’s are cheaper.

Here in Michigan, $500 fines are being levied for not staying 6' away from other peeps.

Just my luck, a deal like that would have cost me $200.

Yeah it’s crazy they want $50 for 17”. I don’t understand that mark up. I was thinking maybe $20

I use them, they are neat and relatively inexpensive. Get them off of Amazon if you want to save a good chunk of money, shipping will take a while since they are focusing on other items at this time but still.

I go thru the wire fast enough, that I don't notice it helping. I have a bunch of those that I never used.

Couple years ago a guy stopped by our store. He had a load of tools in his truck, he and his wife had divorced. He said you want to buy a torch? Had a cart and everything but bottles. He said $75. It was this Harris. I sold the cart, traded out his torch for mine on the welding trailer and sold mine for more than I paid him.

Just went out and took this picture of this torch cart I made years ago with this cheap torch (same one that was on the trailer) I bought at northern tool a long time ago. I’m gonna trade out the Harris I bought today for it and hock it.

Some swear it is the only way they can get a decent weld.
if your in a shop with idiots aiming the grinder sparks at your feeder to the point it is covered in grit I could see them helping

    Alone by yourself personal choice

I tried them did not see much difference that was long ago.

I never worried about dirt, more like lubing the wire to ensure smooth feeding and increase liner life.

That being said I have no data that says it actually does anything positive. *shrug*
