    How exactly do these magnet mounts connect in the back? From the images on Amazon it looks like the ball portion is attached to the vent mount portion not to the back of the magnetic portion?

    Sorry for the late reply, I did use the Arkon ball adapter I think it is the 17mm to 25 mm, I removed the vent clip part and just used the locking nut from the Wizgear mounts. Works well. I have tried other mounts with the Arkon ball adapter and they also fit. Hoco, Scosche, and like 3 others, seems like 17 mm on them is standard.

    All yours sir, and thank you for a great product. I will post when I get my new tablet mounted there too. I plan to use 2 of the magnetic mounts to hold the tablet firmly. Hence why I got the 4 ball mounts.

    It was pointed out to me that some of you may not want to have your devices sitting so far in front of the screen. obviously mounting things closer to the base is more stable but it is hard to do that if you have to connect an arm between the dmm and a device.
    With some input from member @RushT I came up with the following part...
    It bolts directly to the DMM with a very short overhang, it allows you to mount your devices very close to the dash and therefore making it VERY VERY SOLID. The downside is that you lose some flexibility in terms of positioning, you can adjust the angle the device sits at slightly but thats it.
    I am showing it here with a magnetic mount but there are also clamp style holders and other types and standards that will work with this.
    I am wondering how many of you would be interested in this to see if it is worth putting it into production. Let me know what you think!

    one is for my gopro, one is an extra. the one i have now is for my phone with a ram x mount thing. i got a shorter arm connector thing for my phone, a 3 inch i think. the 3d printed thing you just posted looks perfect for a driver's phone.
