Yeah I wasn’t too pleased how the gasket fit on mine either. Otherwise I’m happy with it.

That's nice. Where did you get the fog bracket from? Was it one of the rigid fog brackets?

Im not a fan of water as in under pressure on the engine...just me, many folks do it with no issues..I just look at all the wires, and other electronic crap under the hood and thats my opinion.. and yes I do wheel the rig and it gets dirty...

so to answer, If its really muddy I use a garden sprayer to wet down....and https://www.amazon.com/Adams-Heavy-Purpose-Cleaner-Degreaser/dp/B07PWHXZQ3 to clean....

most of my cleaning is with rags, brushes, and a spray bottle of above or https://www.amazon.com/Adams-Detail-Spray-16oz-Competition/dp/B001QVFD4K

and https://www.amazon.com/303-30313-CSR-Protectant-Plastic-Fiberglass/dp/B00KN0UOEE.....but mostly Im retired and cleaning is a pretty continuous thing, the cleaner you keep the

engine bay the easier it is to spot leaks etc, and the less work it is to keep it clean...

I've never tried the Adams products, because they aren't carried in my local store. I use the Gunk brand cleaners and protectants, and those work well. There used to be a spray-on product called STEAM, but that disappeared a while ago (maybe it was Gunk, and they changed the name). I usually let the engine warm up a bit then use the original spray or heavier foam formula. Let the grease slide off for 15 minutes then spray it off with hose pressure. The protectant is key to a better shine, so don't forget to use that.
The Taco is much better at keeping the engine clean than my previous trucks. The lower engine covers and full fender splash guards keep a lot of mud out. It's mostly road dust mixed with water pulled through the radiator that settles on the engine. Then again, I don't do any serious wheeling, unless you count the shit-condition roads that are prevalent around Florida.

I buy mine thru Amazon, think they are very good quality for the price ..but everyone has thier favorite's.....and yupper I think the Tacoma is much better at staying clean then any of the jeeps I had........Spent some time in Mayport in the early 70's with the Great Canoe Club....was a crazy place then....

Gave her a bath and let my sister try out her new carpet cleaning machine. Definitely cleaned up my interior significantly. Not bad for a 15 year old truck.

I washed her up and wrapped the roof matte black. As much as I try to take care of the paint, I was noticing scratches, paint fade, and endless water spots (I carry kayaks often) on the roof. It still looked good, but to protect what I had, I wrapped it. It went well overall, but I have my mistakes and lessons learned.
