I've had a dozen different ATs, all seasons, and MTs on my trucks - Duratracs have been the best all around tire. On road, offroad, long snowy north east Ohio winters. They are especially good in the snow, so I'm surprised to hear you had a bad experience with them in the snow. Sounds like you have bad luck with tires.

Maybe . Never any problems with my old car. Maybe was just a situation of ice that no tire would save me from.

??? have you considered it may not be the tires? After 4 attempts you might consider it is an issue with the installer and their method / equipment. I have always had problems with DT and their poor balancing results. I will buy from them on-line but take my tires to the dealer for mount and balance. I have 30k miles on my wildpeaks now and no issues (wear or balance) - mounted and balanced at a Toyota Dealer for less than $15/tire. Before you spend the $ on new tires consider having them rebalanced by you local Toyota Dealer. BTW - this is the ONLY work I will allow the stealership to do on my truck. The of the general maintenance I do on my own.

Take a look a this. Maybe they are mounted incorrectly. I had the same issue with my Wildpeaks.

I don't think Generals get much love on here. They should. I've had the AT2 for 60K and now the X3. I've been pretty happy with both. The X3 is heavy and talks a little on the road, but that's what a mud tire does.

I think you should check out what they have that fits your needs.

The newest Coats balancer, from 2018+, as of 11-2019 does not have an adapter/arbor to correctly hold the TRDOR alloy wheel.

I had my winters reinstalled 11-19, and the truck shook over 70mph. Brought it back, said the work wasn't done correctly and rebalanced. I had an important 1400 mile road trip to do and the truck shook over 75mph, and shook for 700 miles. I had run these tires before and had always used the same shop. I bought the truck to Discount Tire and asked them to balance the wheels. No problems after that!

Tell this to my local shop and they start looking into the situation. They had an older Hunter balancer until a few months before my last swap. The owner found that the new Coats did not have an arbor for this wheel, but he found a fix using a Hunter arbor to fit. And since then I have not had a problem.

No issues here with SL Wildpeaks....either you have a bad set or tire or the installer is not quite competent.

I switched to toyo open country a/t 3’s. Problem is completely gone, tires are a bit lighter as well. They don’t looks as “cool” as the wildpeaks but I’m definitely glad I don’t have those vibrations anymore.

I have the same issue with my Falkens on stock rims. They balance just fine and ride great till i get a few k miles down the road. Atleast one needs weights moved by the 5k mark.

My Duratracs have the 3 peak snow designation. Sold off my dedicated winters since these performed just as well. Love 'em.

Best "rain rating" of them all, and considering how close they look to a M/T tire, I just love how quiet they are.

I’ve gone through two sets of KO2s and a set of Falken Wildpeaks, this go around I got a set of the Goodyear Wrangler Ultra Terrains only available through Discount tire. The Goodyear UTs have been great so far, take a look at them.

Did the shop take care of you (also using discount tire) or did you have to sell privately and buy new tires that way? Nervous for mine now!

Discount tire has a really good customer satisfaction policy. When I gave Wildpeaks a try, they happily swapped them out with about 1000 miles on them for a better tire.
