Looking for some 411 about Factory Service Manuals

I’m trying to buy a Factory Service Manual for the 2003 Tacoma that I intend to keep... Did some initial searching for one on EBay. Was cool with the price sort of but it said that it doesn’t include wiring diagrams and that transmission repair manuals are not included.
Are they normally sold separately? How many manuals are there for a 2003? Want the complete set any idea what I should expect to pay for this? Want to get best deal possible!!! Thanks, Taco lovers!

 

Back some years ago Toyota sold the FSM rights to Helm Inc at the time I was told only the years below 2000 I don`t know if the the year has been updated . Looking now I see it has .When this happened prices went through the roof of used manuals.

The bad thing is if Helm Inc does not see enough demand they obsolete that volume driving the price even higher for existing copies.

Depending on the year some complete manuals can have 3 or 4 volumes plus the EWD.

The OBII vehicles have one volume just for diagnostics

Your best bet is looking for listings that say complete set even then be careful

The early ones in the eighties had one volume and the EWD.

Driving every one towards something like Tech Stream or along those lines.

 

This was what I found but would’ve liked the trans repair too.

 

Ive had lots of manuals over the years for different marquees. Fortunately for me, most were rarely referenced.

Whatever book (out of a set) has the OBDIi system and diagnostics will likely be the most valuable.

IMHO the transmission book would mostly be helpful if you had previous success inside a transmission and access to the specialty tools called for.

 

I know I’m probably going to be having a transmission issue sooner or later... thought maybe it’d be good to get it. Negatory on transmission experience. Open to the challenge but was mostly concerned about getting the most bang for my buck.
The EBay books were $158 but I just found these for twice the price. Sounds like the real deal though.

Had no idea they were sooooo expensive... love the truck and it seems like a good idea to have them around.

So should I go for these? And when I get a little extra cash buy the others from here.

 

The 2 book set numbers are RM1002U1 and RM1002U2 I believe. They are $40 each at Helm.com

You can Google those numbers for other sources as well.

I got my 3-volume set from a company named Bishko Automotive Literature on Amazon, it cost $100.

To myself the most critical to me is the EWD as things seem to change in the harness every year and model
