So I had this bumper in the garage for about a year and a half (picture taken from google).

Since I have the time due to staying at home I installed it:

i still need to install the fog lights and front camera, but I was looking at the faceplate and there’s no slot to access the clutch for the winch. Should I just leave the faceplate off? Any major cons? The lower part of the radiator is exposed (right behind the winch), would that be a big issue?

In my state it’s against the law to run without a front plate, your state laws may vary.

Just one of those stupid laws that make no good sense.

I made an extension handle for my winch because the warm bumper does not have an opening . I just open the hood and turn the release. Or just power out on the winch controller also you need a fair lead to be able to use your winch

Also, in Oregon we can’t have third brake lights that flash on cars and trucks even though we see them every day.

If you pop your hood, can you reach the clutch and controls?

No. Once I put the faceplate on, there is no access at all unless I remove the grill or the faceplate.

I have a wireless control and I relocated the solenoid so I can have access to the port where the wired one plugs into if the wireless runs out of battery.

How about cutting a hole in the front plate so your hand can fit inside . Or again just power out the rope . You only need the clutch release to make pulling the rope out faster

Looks alright. I do like that the winch fairlead faced straight forward rather than downward like most bumpers.

I would just cut a hole on the drivers side top section

I have the same bumper, but I've yet to install the winch. However, there seems to be plenty of space to stick your hand in there to reach the winch.

In the bottom picture, my hand reaches down to where I think the control lever would be

Trucks lifted 3" and I am only 5'6 lol. Can't reach all the way down there. Also, I relocated the solenoid to the grill with a wireless remote sensor since it didn't fit (height) so that kinda gets in the way as well (best placement for the wires and sensor).

Not really worried anymore since I installed the sensor for wireless remote. I can wait for it to unwind using the remote lol.

Right up until you discover how inconveniently the wireless controls decide to not work.

I have a backup cable remote that I just plug right into the solenoid. Another reason why I relocated the solenoid for ease of access.

Can you reach the clutch? Lol it would be shitty if you have to pop your grill off to reach.

No, lol. I’ll just use power to wind it. Will take a minute, but it’ll get the job done.
