Yea, not sure when it broke, I just notice it when rotating the tires. side note (not that it has anything to do with it) the dust boot has been broken for awhile now (74K) and you can not buy the boot or spring separate, only offered as a loaded unit..... (OE that is)

I have seen springs broken in the spot before. That area where the coils flatten out seems to be a flex point and I have seen them fail in that area before. Do you think that it could have happened a while ago and you just now noticed it? That could explain the rust.

Shame you can't buy the parts. Fox is an awful company to work with when you need specialized service, and they probably help even less with OE products. Maybe Toyota will offer some good will. I have had luck getting them to cover part of the cost of things out of warranty that should have failed as a good will offer.

Are you at 74K now? A spring should last a lot longer.

Yep 74K now, I called Fox a year or so ago about the dust boot with no help but was told to contact the dealer ( nope, not covered) 750.00 each on the strut assembly....OUCH!

True but I want to keep it OE.
I didn't think of this until after I bought the truck, I should have bought the sport and I would have done so much more to it than the Pro

eibach is working on replacement spring for the trd pro, they are going to be a little longer than the stock ones, but will be way cheaper than having to buy a new loaded strut.

If you want to keep the OEM springs, im sure there will be a few sets for sale in the next coming months.

Fox wouldn't warranty OEM parts because the OEM (Toyota) shaved them out of every dollar in the original supply contract, as per standard OEM practice.

This should be a warning to anyone considering a TRD Pro - the shocks have no spare parts support and therefore not repairable. This is true for most Toyota accessories as well. Break a little mounting bracket on the Toyota tonneau? The dealer will be happy to sell you another $1000 tonneau.

This is not really true. I had a pro rear strut with a broken shaft (threaded part broke off) Fox replaced the broken shaft and shipped it back to me. They have parts, they can repair them, they can rebuild them.

I believe Eibach is the factory supplier for the pro springs for the Fox Suspension. Maybe contact Eibach about a spring replacement? They probably wouldn’t be too happy about one of their springs failing at 74k miles.

Did you pay typical rebuild costs for this service?
