RTT on the roof

Is anyone actually mounting their tent on the roof? What rack are you using? I want to do it for now, until I come up with a way to put it on the bed while still being able to use the tonneau cover.

Side question: Are the ruggedized versions of tepui tents worth the extra money when choosing them over the explorer series?

 

Mine is hovering over the roof, but it's on the bed cap. You'd need a real small tent to fit soley on the roof. If you were to do it you'd need some aftermarket cross bars from Thule or the like. You could also get a modular rack like frontrunner, prinsu, etc. If you go that route, measure the roof and tent dimensions closely.
