I have a 2014 4dr Tacoma sport long bed. Recently, the drivers side rear door stopped unlocking with the fob. All other doors are fine. I have not made any recent modifications to the truck. If I stand near the door, it sounds like the locking mechanism isn't actuating, I can clearly hear the others unlock.
The reverse is also true, it won't lock if unlocked.
    Please advise. Thanks.
If possible, please post any helpful diagrams or video links to troubleshoot.

I have the same problem with my front driver door. 2012. I’ve called all the junk yards within a hour of me and they all told me they had no 05-15 Tacoma’s.

What does that door do when the door lock switch on the door panel is pressed?

OP I’d take the door panel off & look/listen then. Do you have 2 fobs? Do they both not work with that door? Does locking the door using the truck button give you the same result?

here’s the Amazon fob link. I have a factory & aftermarket fob both have never gave me trouble. I programmed it myself - super easy. I do have the 2 factory keys though.

Thanks for the ideas. I will check to see what it does with the door panel button. I have another fob, so I'll also see if the same happens. It used to be more intermittent, but now it's pretty consistently every time. Thanks again.

There’s a slot car motor looking motor in the door latch. They eventually wear out. They’re available on ebay for cheap. If you don’t assemble the latch correctly, the door won’t open. Try the latch 20 times with a screwdriver before you close the door.

Yea my driver door’s actuator motor went out too. I actually fixed it by removing the actuator, disassembling it and replacing the small motor inside. But then I messed up and didn’t connect the door wires to it properly and locked me out of my truck lol so I had to cut it up to enter my truck and ended up just buying a whole new actuator unit. I would recommend doing that

Excellent advice. I don't want to see another " I can't get my door open thread ".

So, with the other fob, same thing happens. When I press the unlock button on the drivers door panel, it wont unlock. Interesting thing, both fobs and the drivers door panel button will lock the door if it is unlocked.

I'm going to take apart the door when I get home to see if maybe the unlock wire is loose or something.,its weird to me that it would lock, but not unlock. I will also make sure someone is in the vehicle before I mess with any connections, or at least that the window is down.
