PS 4 external hard drives

need to make some room for upcoming games. Have been looking at the Western Digital game external hard drive (4TB). Anybody use this or have any good recommendations? Thanks for any input

 

Not sure about compatibility with the PS4 but at that storage capacity make sure the HDD is a CMR, not a SMR type of HDD.

 

Does anyone have experience using RAID-type hard drives for games? I'm not sure about PS4 compatibility either. I used to use these just to store a large number of files. RAID can do an excellent job with this task. I don't know anything about games. But it would be very convenient for me to continue to use RAID. Moreover, after a recent incident, I even have contacts of those who will help me with HDD RECOVERY. I don't want to change anything. Help if you know something useful on this subject.

 

Well RAID(s) are just storage solutions for redundancy and data protection (from loss), not necessarily the type of HDD being used. If you want to just store games then you should be able to put them onto any portable HDD. If you are trying to play games off a RAID solution... I don't think that would be compatible, or efficient.
