@OVTune Now that you're seeing comments, can we please get an answer regarding handheld files? You told me to PM you, which I did 2 days ago. My original zendesk email for initial handheld files has gone unanswered for almost 2 weeks now.

Can you help to clear things up?

Since the handhelds aren't so easy to update and flash I was waiting to hear a little feedback in case modifications were necessary. I will send you the other handheld files today so you will have tunes while we iron out anything on this one

Just a version for testing. If you hold off a couple days Vlady will have his own tune / programmer ready for purchase...

    @BortisYeltzen .
The issue with startup is that it starts in direct mode. See below. See a little shelf in the middle of the vertical line. This is where I stalled. This was DI mode. Then it switched to Either.
    Used to be Port.

Question. When you first loaded the tune did you have any ISSUES present that made you look into datalogging and then finding our new injection setup?

    We're you experiencing anything driving?

Or were you just digging looking for something to bring up?

I'm honestly curious, if I switch it back, what's next? You not liking the amount of ignition you are seeing?

AFR not where you want it at 4000 rpm?

Did you actually have an ISSUE when you first started all of this?

Seeing a lot of people bring up Cold Start issues. That’s good feedback for sure and seems pretty consistent so far.

@OVTune Would you recommend an oil catch can for these 3rd gen tacomas or not (not turbo-ed). Genuinely curious about your opinion with your experience.

I just want Mat to do what he thinks is best for the truck with the DI/PI. But it does sound like something is up with cold starts across the board.

Very curious how 5.29 and big tires is doing...would love to test, but I’m still waiting on my P5F stuff from sending in my dongle last week...

anybody have any testing so far on a 5.29 tune? Preferably with 34-35” version? How’s the shift points, speed governor gone?

Yes feedback like this is helpful.

Speculative feedback is not. Looking at data then making comparisons to articles online and speculating carbon build up is not.

I have worked with DI engines long enough to know you don't have to spray them every time you idle to keep them clean.

Heck there are cars that spray once every few days that keep them clean.

So, if feedback is presented based on speculation and articles found on Google we will never get out of this cycle.

I will modify the cold start controls but I still plan to utilize more direct injection.
So take that statement and make your decision. If you don't want it, don't use it.

See, I told everyone several pages back that the 04B04 guys are lame...

Release this version to the 04A61 dudes and see what they can do.

    Will make this crystal clear:

In regards to direct injection use. The tune will utilize more direct injection than stock.
If you do not like that, do not use it.

If you think our tune will cause carbon build up, stop speculating and prove it. I have enough experience tuning DI to know what I'm doing.

In regards to cold start I will modify it.

It is because most 04B04 guys don't have a way to flash right now. bad timing

Not educated enough to know about how often the port injection is needed. Just want to add a video of my start up change. Would like at a minimum the start up to go back to where it was. Don’t think this is hurting anything, but sounds off.

question: how are you all loading videos? Not letting me load it like photos.

Can I request for the final 2.0 with stock DI+PI when released? If that's is not too hard to modified.
    Thanks!

I treated this flash as all others -pure observation.
I did ask you a question about the mode and took your answer. Then I went for a drive and your parameters in your answer did not correlate with the data I gathered.
We have asked you a question what is appropriate PI duration on this engine under low/moderate load/RPMs and how this tune mitigates carbon build up on intake valve.
Sorry If I missed, but to the day I dont think we got the answer.
I'm not picking on your tune or you expertise, I simply looking what was before and what is now and ask questions, which you seem trying to avoid.
Let me know if any questions.

Regarding catch cans, helps on any engine. But most benefit depends where it is.

Maximum benefit will come from using a catch can on the driver side bank hose that connects to the bottom of the intake manifold.

    @OVTune

I just did a cold start (ambient temp ~70*F) and it had the stumble as others have noted. Tune is Base 87 octane, stock tire size.

    Crank starts around 20sec mark.

I'm still trying to figure out how to get the damn graph to show on the datalog in TS, but it was on "either" mode for about 10secs upon startup, then went to direct...again, working as it should, and no complaints about it.
