I just wanted to give some feedback on a recent purchase of mine. I ordered the Mevotech Upper Control Arms from Rock Auto. My alignment with the stock UCAs obviously sucked due to the lift, so I was in search of some decently priced UCAs that could fix that.

My truck: 2001, Xtra Cab, 2.7, Auto, 3 inch Toytec/Boss lift

    Part #s: MEVOTECH CMS861192, MEVOTECH CMS861193

Based on some feedback from this forum, I decided to go with these, based on the price, and the strong possibly of getting re-boxed SPC UCAs.

The verdict: I did NOT receive SPC UCAs. They seem to be generic. Not sure who the manufacture is, but they seem decent. No issues whatsoever. What is crazy, is the bushings in the UCAs are labeled "SPC," as are the ball joints that came with the UCAs.

After a solid alignment from a local shop, the truck rides SOOOOOO much better. Night and day. It now drives straight and doesn't wander whatsoever. Time will tell, but for now I am pretty happy with the purchase. I will report back if I have any issues.

***UPDATE- based on some feedback below, it turns out that I may have received the actual SPC arms as well.

This is great to hear. I know a lot of people were interested but didn’t want to be the guinea pig.

Been looking at these recently and weighing opinions on them. I hadn't seen anyone that said the arm itself was labeled as SPC, but most had said it was on the ball joint. My one ball joint currently has a busted boot and leaking grease but its lasted for almost 3 years after the OME lift before it started so I can't complain. Not sure how much longer my job is going to be lasting with all the stupid crap going on now, so I'm trying to hold off a little longer before dropping a chunk of coin.

I've seen it on a few threads. However, looking back, I think most of them were 2nd and 3rd gens.

Either way- the quality is pretty darn good for the price and my truck drives a million times better.

I will say that the SPC upper ball joints are very good quality. They are pretty heavy duty compared to my original OEMs. Surprisingly, my upper ball joints looked pretty decent after 195k miles. They were original.

Pics cause both of the ones i received were spcs cast into the joint and with spc instructions

not old ones either mine had the newest style flexi joint opposed to the old style bushing

Guess its a roll of the dice

was considering going mevotech, but ultimately went with JBA since they're priced pretty much the same and there wasn't too much certainty these were gonna be SPC. but im glad it worked out for you!

Totally could be. I just didn't see it actually etched into the arms themselves.

    Thoughts?

I bought SPC UCAs (haven't installed them yet) and yours look identical. I only have about a 2" lift in front but I do have some wander on the freeway, which is why I bought them. Do you happen to have a pic of the alignment sheet?

Update: I was experiencing a popping sound and feeling, coming from the drivers side upper control arm. I brought it in for inspection and the tech said that the drivers side UCAs were missing two of the bushings (see picture for reference). The picture is only one. It is missing on both of the two insides of the arm.

Can anyone with the SPC UCAs for the MEVOTECHs confirm there is a bushing that goes there? It IS there on my other side arms. The tech believes that the missing bushing is the source of the pop or clunk. If it is missing, my installer either didn't install them, or they never came with them. Not sure.

    Thanks guys.

hopefully someone chimes in but with my ES replacement bushings I just had the poly bushing and sleeve. bolt goes through the sleeves and washers on inside/outside of the bushings.

what's your other side look like for a comparison pic ?

Those are SPCs, that's what Mevotech sells. Rebranded older model SPC arms. They're a good deal

New SPCs have the flat forged arms rather than the rounded tubular ones

I like them for sure. I ordered a new driver side arm, hoping it comes with the needed bushings.
