Looking for brackets or strong roof rails to support my Vault Basket. Problem is that i have a 2000 Tacoma SR5 xtra cab. Only thing i see is for 4 door Tacoma's. Any recommendations?

If you want something "strong" you will need to pull the headliner and look at reinforcing the roof. The roof is very thin and cannot support that much weight. If you get the mounts near the sides of the truck it will be stronger, but you are still only working with thin sheet metal.

    That’s a good idea! I hadn’t thought of rivnuts.

I just want one roof rack cross bar I can attach a wind deflector to. My camper makes a lot of wind noise and I suspect a wind deflector would help a little with mpgs.

If you just want a fairing you could probably make something like the mounts for LED light bars.

You can also get the yakima or thule mounts that go in the door jambs and don't require drilling.

How does your spare tire carrier work? Do you have to remove the whole thing to open the tailgate or does it flip down?

Look for something like this, and maybe you'll get lucky. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/roof-rack-on-a-extra-cab.180700/page-2#post-12554580
If you look on the next page of that thread theres another red truck with the same set up, but not with the discontinued SST towers, and with the newer Q clips. He said he used the Q16 fit kit and extender on his.

After I found that thread this exact thing popped up on craiglist near by, and I grabbed it for my truck. IMG_20200220_171114.jpg

I ended up adding three struts with some U bolts from front to back to turn it into a low profile basket type thing. It's super handy!

    Good Luck!
