Pop Up Canopy Suggestion

    I’m debating a new pop up canopy for use in my backyard / camping. In the past my method has been buying a super cheap one ($75-$100) and then only getting about 1.5 seasons out of it.

    Can anybody recommend a canopy that’s more durable in the $200-$300 range? Is it even worth spending the extra money? I’m figuring now at 1.5 years per canopy and $100 per canopy I’m spending $400 every 5-6 years. Can I spend $200-300 and get 5 years out of it without the hassle of going out to buy a new one as often?

    I know that something to withstand gale force winds and buckets of rain doesn’t exist in that price range, but my main goal is something I can set up for BBQ one afternoon, and I don’t absolutely HAVE to take it down that night when I’m buzzed and tired. The bottom basement cheap ones get torn up from just light rain and winds.

    I went through 3 of those $50 canopies from typical department stores 2 years ago. Got one of these, alps mountaineering tri awning, from a Sierra trading post on sale

    Haven't had a chance to really put it to the test, but it feels pretty secure if you stake the 3 points down. It also doesn't have the guide?guy? lines that some other models have that looks like I'll trip over it when I'm drunk later in the night. I did need someone else to set it up the first time though. If my coleman cheapo tent withstood strong winds with broken poles, this thing will last too

    Kelty makes something similar so does big agnes. similar stuff, different brands. I almost went with https://www.kelty.com/big-shady/ but the price difference influenced me
