Blue Protectant won't go away on OWL Tires

I've had my KO2s for almost a year now and I can't get the stripe from where the blue protectant was applied to go away (you know that blue coating that white lettering tires have from the factory). It seems like it's a permanently lighter color than the rest of the tire. Hard to see in this photo but it's pretty obvious in person--it's the duller stripe that surrounds the lettering and goes around the center of the sidewall.

It doesn't really bother me but I figured I'd ask if anyone had any luck getting rid of it. Should I use more cleaner or use more dressing/tire shine?

A good stiff wet tire brush, some Bleche-Wite, and elbow grease should get the job done. That's the combo I've always used and I've had those tires on my truck many times.

If that blue stripe bothers you I can't imagine you get any sleep with those wheel weights on the outside lip!!

A lot of places unfortunately. Mine are like that from a very popular tire shop on main st that's been in business for 30+ years.

 

Lulz, I still have my red and white dots on my tires after two years.
