Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

in regards to anything "2.0 tune" Nothing has been released except for 04B81. I have not been able to finish 04B04 yet.

All other things are related to vF Tuner.

running your catted dump tubes & URD spec u

ran an original 2.0 optimized for decatted dump tubes

hunted down an exhaust leak for months. Changed lots of gaskets, etc., never could find it

loaded 2.0F, no files available for dump tubes

now.. the “leak” is gone..

ive done everything I could do to recreate it and I can’t.

For some reason I thought that was a common trait with the dump tubes. Could be wrong though

 

it was common.. but I can’t believe what’s been going on.

 

maybe what you were hearing was not an exhaust leak. Could be from our fuel changes

 

Forgive me but I read the FAQ and Im still confused. If I want to purchase an OVTune, never ever having had one before, for a 2019 OR v6, and get a tune for 87 Octane to improve performance, I do what exactly?

The primary exhaust pipe that attaches to the heads. I want to say headers but since it's only a single tube, it sounds wrong. Anyway, they have a catalyst in them to help with emmisions before the engine is warm. Dump tubes remove this catalytic converter.

Correct. In that case, you need to purchase a J2534 cable, like a Tactrix openport 2.0.

 

I have been running 04B81 87 octane 32” for ~100 miles- I’m experiencing a premature 3-4 shift. It’s not as big of a deal as it was when stock since the truck has a lot more usable low end torque now.

However, my 2020 did the early 3-4 much worse than my 2016 did (comparing stock 2020 to stock 2016). Perhaps 04B81 needs a little extra adjustment.

Not complaining, just giving some feedback. My truck drives 10x better than it did before the tune
