Is there anything special about installing the center caps on the new style ‘20 Sport wheels?
During the 10K maint. last week, the dealer broke 2 wheel center caps and today Discount Tire broke a wheel center cap while replacing a cut tire. The caps were broken when attempting to install the caps.

I've only had our 2020 for a couple of months and took off the center caps once and it's plastic, not overly solid at all. I bet tire shops, mechanics would just go in there and pry it out without regards "sigh", it's just a center cap mind set

They are very fragile. I popped one of my wheel, and it fell a whopping 5” and cracked.

Discount Tire guy indicated that the caps wholesaled for $32 each and that there are no aftermarket caps yet for a 20 Sport wheel.

Geez this has been driving me nuts. Been rattling ever since I had Tire Pros change my tires.

Remove the wheel from the truck first, and then push the center cap out from the back. Tap gently. Do not pry.

For ordinary tire rotations, there's no need to remove the center caps at all. The lug nuts can be removed without touching the center caps.

You would need to tap out the center caps when dismounting the tires from the rims.

i have a '22 sport and the center caps were broke by the dealer and/or tire shop who i visited on the same day. as mentioned, they are fragile and can break easily.

i pointed it out before i left the tire shop that 3 of the 4 were broken. they ordered and paid for 4 new ones. i picked them up a few days afterwards and never put them back on. the truck looks better with them on but, they break too easily and i don't want to deal with it again.
