My battery died since I have not gone anywhere during COVID19. I trickle charged it for a day and tried to start it. The truck sounded the alarm off whenever I opened the door or tried to start the truck the full alarm would engage. I disconnected the battery and now whenever I connect it back the alarm immediately goes off.

I do not have a key fob to reset this. I have tried unlocking the door while the alarm is going off. Hooking the battery up while the truck key is in the "On" position. I am not sure if one of these things will work and I might be just doing it in the wrong sequence. Any help would be appreciated, really don't want to tow my truck to a shop to pay top dollar for someone to fix a simple issue.

New battery X2. Or at least have it tested. Look for corrosion on battery terminals. Check the battery cables for internal corrosion too.

I have an '05 and had a similar issue where this was activating the kill switch so when you tried to start you never even heard the click - all with the alarm blaring. I used one of these methods -- can't remember now but I have them bookmarked ...
    lol.

maybe if you start the car the alarm will stop? You can get a new key (fob) and program it: https://northcoastkeyless.com/2005-toyota-tacoma-keyless-entry-remote-programming-instructions/

I did get a new battery but was in the middle of nowwhere with someone wanting to replace the starter, tow, blah blah. I could tell it wasn't even trying to turn over and eventually overrode the kill switch ... started right up after it had been charging for some time. The battery was toast so I did get a new one ASAP.

I can have the battery tested to see if that's it. I have cleaned the terminals while I was killing time when it was trickle charging. The thing that doesn't make me think it's a battery issue is the truck doesn't even sound like it's trying to start. Like it would if the battery was low and you needed a jump. It simply just goes right into alarm mode. Regardless, I will pull it out to get it fully tested. Will keep everyone posted! Thank you.

Is there a single click once you try to turn it over? If there's no click I bet the kill switch (right term?) is activated b/c of the alarm and it's not going to attempt to start.
In my case, the 5 times reset the switch and I was able to start. You'll hear the click and it will fire up or the normal failed stutter when your battery is dead. The tell tell sign for me was no audible click when attemping to start. I'm not 100% if the alarm was going off while trying this. I want to say yes but I can't remember.

Just rip the alarm horn out of the engine, especially if you got neighbors

On a serious note. Depending on the type of alarm you got. Inside the driver side door up by the paneling by the door there might be a toggle switch or underneath as well for a manual turn off of the alarm system
