    Hey y’all,

just a bit bored surfing TW forums. Been lurking for a while and decided it’s time to say hello.

Knoxville local - does anyone have any local distributor, shop, and/fab recommendations? The project list is getting smaller and ready for more goodies

    wishing everyone well.

    Welcome! I’m also in Knoxville.

Rock Your 4x4 seems to have it together. I have been in there and talked to those guys and was impressed, though in the past they have had a hell of a waiting list, which is good from a reputation perspective but hell if you are impatient or dont plan that far ahead. I havent visited Rockytop Customz but i think they have a good reputation also.

I do everything i can myself, so i can’t give you personal experiences. i had one shop do some shoddy work for me several years ago but im not much for talking bad so i just wont mention them.

maybe someone else can chime in.

There is also a fab shop out west of Knoxville, i think they are called Outlaw Fab or something. I emailed them once but never heard back. But they were recommended to me as being good. But again, no personal experience so dont take this as endorsements just info sharing.

What is it you are thinking of having done?

Hey! Thanks for the reply - I’ve heard of both places mentioned and will have to check them out.

I’m no expert, but mechanically inclined, so I do as much work on the truck as I’m comfortable with...

I guess I’m really looking for a fabricator in the near future for some upgraded armor.

In the meantime I’m grabbing an OME kit from Toytec - 884 coils, and HD Dakar Leaf Pack.

Only slightly intimidated to do the installation myself... gotta learn somehow.

    feedback and advice welcome. Thanks.

@Kerleyfries might be able to help you out with armor issues.

I hear that. Good luck! As far as doing it yourself suspension very accessible. Basic tools and a good torque wrench will get you far. The torque specs for everything are on the 2nd gen sticky posts at the top, and lots of people here to give emotional support .

Welcome. I've had some work done a Rocky Top Customz. Nice guys. Good prices.

I've not had any luck with a fabricator though. I couldn't even find someone that would weld sliders to my frame.

Do you know if Rocky Top will do other mods - particularly with electrical and battery?

I'm pretty sure they will. They did an entire frame swap on an FJ Cruiser.

Ok - yeah I'd say they could handle it.

I have a blind spot monitor kit my wife got me... and also have a few other lights and accessories I'd like to hook up, but want a clean install that may have to have some battery work with switches and panel.
