I know i posted last week but i finally received my 2020 Tacoma last Thursday! I was surprised it came in a week earlier then anticipated. I wanted share a picture. I am so glad i made this purchase!! The only little things i notice is after about a week the drivers seat leather is starting to wrinkle but i figured that is bound to happen and over bumps i hear noises from the passenger seat almost like a thud sound but it only happens when passenger rear tire goes over a bump.. 341C23A2-9D54-441E-8228-A2A2DAE307F9.jpg

Beautiful truck! Can you describe the noise you are hearing from the passenger side in more depth?

The best way to describe is that sounds like the passenger seat isn’t bolted down all the way. It sounds like a thud over bumps. It doesn’t make the sound when I have a passenger in the seat

Thank you for the link. I just went outside to heck and i cant seem to see anything that is loose. I did adjust the seat to make sure it locks into place. I will drive it later today to see if that did anything

Put the seat all the way back then smack it into place from behind, it locks into place and the noise will go away. It worked for me or put it back to the spot before all the way back and it works also.

I'm sure you tried this, but sit in the seat while adjusting...

So i adjusted the passenger seat to make sure it locked into place but the rattle still occurs. I can kinda reproduce the sound by moving the passenger seat from side to side with my hands. It almost feels like the back left of the seat bottom is loose. Maybe i should schedule a appointment with the dealer

So I found out from the dealer it is a design flaw on the Tacoma rails where the last indentation for the seat is deeper then the others which causes more movement over bumps when there is no passenger. When you move passenger seat one click up then it goes away. So now I am wondering how you made the noise go away on the last click on the seat adjustment? Do you just hit the bottom of the seat in the back and you should hear it lock into place? I am going to call Toyota to complain about this flaw. I still love the truck but that is annoying.

My 2020 Tacoma passenger seat rattled like crazy. I’ve driven Tacoma’s for 30 years and have never heard this rattle. The dealer told me today it is normal and nothing can be done to fix it. I find that hard to believe.

    Hello Rauchtown,

Unfortunately you are not alone. Have your tried sliding the passenger seat up one click? I have noticed as well that my seat will rub against the center console during bumps causing a slight rattle. My fix was to wedge a microfiber cloth in-between the passenger seat and the center console. the rattle is by design unfortunately. My dealer even drove 2 other tacomas on the lot and heard the same noise.
