2010 Toyota Tacoma 145000 miles. Got in it this morning. Went to back up when I started backing up it made 2 popping noises. Put it in drive and started down the road. While going down the road I noticed a constant ticking noise. Any thoughts or ideas to look at on this would be greatly appreciated. I’m thinking u joint or cv.

As far as the backing up part mine does this and it’s the front brake pads.

try and post a video clip of the noise if you can.

Does the clicking rate increase/decrease with the speed, like a rock in the tread?

Can you replicate the sounds? If so, can you go slow enough for someone on the outside to hear and narrow your search?
Clicking and popping can come from a bunch of different things so any of us would only be guessing as there isn't just one or two usual culprits. If you can provide more information, some of us might be able to help narrow down the issue. Just need to go through a process of elimination.

I also have these noises. Loose LCA skid bolts seem to be part of it, but... I wanted to know more about the brake pad noise. Does this need to be fixed?

It was passenger side cv axle making the ticking noise. Changed it out no ticking noise but now it’s leaking fluid. What did I miss on installing

Did you damage your seal between the cv axle and differential?

Check the pins for the brake pads on the front end, make sure the clips are still there so the pins aren't hitting the rim(s). It happens.
