    Hi,

I just purchased a 2011 Tacoma Base with a 6ft bed (Black). Brand new frame less that 100 miles on it.
I would like to see if I can get hold of a used cap for this truck.
Can you help with the dimensions? I measured front of bed to rear of tailgate (77") and the width at the front of the bed is 65/66" and tapers to 63" at the rear.
Appreciate some advice on just what size I would be looking for on Craigslist.

    Cheers
    Jim

2005-2015 DCLB cap/shell 6 ' vs the DCSB/Access cab 5' one. Only 2 sizes out there for Tacoma. Newer gen3 do not fit so don't go down that road (search the posts and lots of info).

    Stock for now.. maybe
Do you have a regular cab? double cab and access cabs have same profile. If you have a regular cab itll probably be a bit harder due to less numbers. I searched for awhile before I bought new. Hopefully you can find a good deal fast. I actually have a black shell on my magnetic grey truck but it's not for sale

    Thank you for your help.
I have a regular cab long bed:
The truck pics are below, included one of the frame which has 100 miles only, which is the main reason I purchased.
The bed has a track system so am wondering if this link:
    https://www.amazon.com/API-Clamps-Silver-Toyota-Tacoma/dp/B07K2K1QG9?th=1
    will work for clamps?
The dimensions I took are 77" front to back and 65/66" width. The bed does taper toward the rear to 63"?
    Appreciate your guidance.

Yes those clamps are the ones I used and been on for 8 years. You have to make sure the slides in the rails are in the grooves correctly then lock the rail part on with a hex wrench without the top section that locks down on the shell on (need a hex long enough to reach in to the clamp bolt thru the access hole). After locking the clamp to the rail then put the top part on with the long bolt and secure.

Yeah, from what I understand, Greenedmc is right, there are technically two lengths of cap, and 6 foot, BUT the 6' cap for a reg. cab will be slightly different in fitment compared to the others.

I'd look for clamps like this that actually fit in the rail system in your bed. If you buy a new one from ARE or LEER this is what they will install. You can probably pick some up from one of the dealers

Update: Thank you all for your help. I picked up a used ARE cap yesterday. The guy used it for a year and just stored it as he did not want it. Gave to me for FREE!!!! Worth the 60 mile trip out to pick it up. (Muddog) the clamps worked great. The cap never budged on the return trip. Appreciate all the guidance.

Great deal and glad all fit and clamped on OK.
Site has lots of good info and owners that can help and we all use it regularly for some new repair we come up against.
