What Transmission Oil Should I Request?

    I have a 05 Regular Cab 4wd with a new 5 speed transmission. What is the best transmission oil for this truck? Today it was around 50 degrees this morning and when its this cool like this it is hard to shift and notchy. When the truck warms up its better but for a new transmission its just not as smooth as I had hoped. I was told the transmission oil was from Toyota. Would the Redline
    $30 75w 90 Synthetic Gear Lube - 1 Quart (Pack of 2)
    75w 90 GL 4 be the best for this transmission? I am changing mechanics and would like to know what to ask for at the new shop. Thanks.

    Wow I can be so oblivious sometimes. My initial post was about automatic tranny fluids but now I see you have a manual. Sorry about that.

    I have used Redline MT90 and am now using this STA-LUBE. To be honest I can’t tell any difference in shifting between the two in my 5 speed.

    Color matched door handles, Weathertech floor liners, bed mat, Durafit seat covers, tailgate clamp, 2016 TRD Sport 17" wheels with Yokohama Geolander AT tires , Toyota exhaust tip, Toyota/Yakima bike rail mount, Toyota wheel locks, Toyota hitch cover, Redline hood struts, unifilter on air pump.
    When I had my 5 speed I tried MT90 and I didn’t notice a difference either. I guess the MT90 is supposed to be very good for the synchros. I just know it was pricey.

    The 5 speed doesn't require GL-4; GL-4 or GL-5 are both fine.

    1st post, I know, but I have to start somewhere:cool:. Bought my 12 Taco new with a 6 speed. After 3k I changed out the tranny oil for Redline, noticed smoother shifts in all temps. I see ambient temps from 100F+ in summer to -30F in winter, (gotta love Utah!)
