Good morning, Lots of RV's coming up the hill already - early holiday weekend camping due to the Stay Home slowly opening up. Going to stay around the house and continue fire mitigation efforts - camping next weekend.

Yep, I was almost run off the road yesterday with an overloaded F150 with a way-too-heavy single axle toy hauler when it ran through a flashing crosswalk and was swerving all over. I'll be happy to get back off the pavement where trailers can't go.

It amazes me how many pick-up truck owners I run into that bitch about their trucks towing abilities. 90% of the time it is the owners problem by trying to haul a trailer way to heavy for the trucks rating. But of course it is the trucks fault, OMG figure it out dumba** it is you not the vehicle.... Spend the money and get the right truck for the trailer/camper you want to pull - it isn't rocket science.

lol, Isn't this all about they incredible Physics knowledge where they expect to stop in the same distance as when they are hauling azz with 10K load in trailer?

Heck, I have it built into my head to test braking distance/ time way before I actually need to stop before hitting something.

Our country and states aren't known for being very … stringent … on handing out licenses to just old anyone that can push some plastic with their feet and flail their arms around a circular object…

Made me flash back to Germany where you have to correctly identify 50 traffic signs "meaning" (you can miss 2) before you even get to take the "test", I was sweating out that bad awaiting the results. Do we even have 50 "traffic" sign types in the USA?

Anybody trying to do some good for our community one of these coming weekends? I say we go out to the shooting ranges on Gold Camp Road (West CO Springs), sling some brass, then use the opportunity to clean up the mess these people made of our forest. I was up there yesterday and it’s nothing but mounds of cardboard and shells littering an otherwise great trail. Anybody game?

Definitely down, one trip last summer came home with a bed FULL of shit people left in fire pits and at the shooting spots ranging from 5 gallon bucket shitters (full), beer cans, full trash bags, shells, fishing gear, cardboard, you name it. I never remember it being this bad

I'd be interested(need to finish sighting in the AR and haven't even fired my new .45 yet) but won't be able to make it this weekend since I'm loading up and heading out of town. I might be able to do the following weekend if there's someplace to camp nearby(I'm not familiar with the Springs area very well).

@GrilledCheese what a great idea; I'd be there in a heartbeat but I'm living in OH right now. I spent 8 years in the Springs before continuing to move around for the military life. I've driven the Gold Camp & Old Stage roads many, many times. We usually popped beers where the pavement ends just behind the Broadmoor and then got out to piss at that overlook you posted. We'd find random campsites on the offshoot roads and spend all night burning pallets and shooting cans. Ahh, to be young again. Thanks for posting the pics, brought me back to a much better time with a lot less responsibility and a whole lot less stress.
