Hey guys. I haven't posted or been on in a while, but I have a dilemma. My girl is giving me trouble (2005 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner). I've been slowly replacing worn parts on my truck (296k miles). I had a rattling noise when hitting bumps and a popping noise when backing from my driveway and the wheel turned. I've replaced the upper and lower control arms, tie rods, sway bar links, strut shock assemblies, and wheel bearings in the front end. Rattling is gone and ride is improved. But, I'm still getting the loud popping noise when backing out of my drive way and the wheels turned. Any idea of what it could be? I've put around $1000 in the front end so far, and I was planning to move to engine components, but......

Are you running OEM sized Wheels/tires ride height or do you have lift? might be getting wheel rub at full lock, i havent trimmed my fenders yet and im running just under 285's and at full lock get a pop or two from the tread tryin to rip the fender lol

If you have new ball joints with your suspension install, I would look next into U-joints.

Just because you can and it’s free.
Check the lower control arm bolts/cam nuts.
    I believe they a supposed to be 100 lb/ft.
They have been known to be loose. Especially if the alignment shop just “guesses” with a grunt.

You can find all the torque specs here

I had this at one point but it wasn’t very loud, more of a clunk, but it did make noise like you indicated. I cleaned and greased my glide/slide pins and back of the brake pads. It was essentially brake pad slap.
