I'm not a spacer guy, does it change the geometry so a 2 inch spacer adds 3 inches of lift? The stock truck doesn't come with an inch of lift, it comes stock.

Yes sooo my main question was i wanted the same height as the truck on the video i linked on the original post that was achieved by a spacer lift as well but i wanted to know if the icon stage 1 will get me to that same height, pretty much want coilovers over spacers and want to make sure before pulling the trigger on a 1500$ kit

These components should help you achieve the lift you want, and will probably be the best ride quality you can get for the lowest price.

So here’s where I think you may be confused. A 2” spacer vertically has an effect of 3” of lift because of the geometry of the suspension. It’s like long travel control arms. You can add the same spacer and with longer arms you can get 4-5” of lift.

    Ok.

Drop the " factor lift "

2nd gens Max out at 3" typically.

3rd gens Max out at 2" typically.

3rd gens aren't lifted from the factory. That's just how they are, naturally 1" taller than the second gens, to settle confusion.

The factory components of a 3rd gen TRD Off Road will lift a 2nd gen by 1". I'm using stock suspension from a 3rd Gen with a 1" lift spacer. So that's 1" from the 3rd gen coilover, and 1" from the spacer making that 2" of total front lift.

Sounds like that guy has a 3" then I assume...3" lift is about the max that is recommended for a 4wd because it puts steep angles on your CV axles and can make them fail prematurely. Most recommend not going over 2.5 to be safe. I used to have 3" on my 04 but lowered it to 2.5 because I had a couple CVs fail, which let me tell you is not fun when it happens on a trail.

Are you sure that guy is 4x4? If he's 2wd, then he can lift as high as his heart desires (for the most part) since he doesn't have a front drivetrain to worry about. Also, maxing out your coilovers to 3" will make them ride very stiff.

I would recommend doing a max 2.5" lift with that Icon kit and getting larger tires to bring the height up more...after all, "real" lift or clearance is only gained through larger tires. Suspension lifts the truck but other components stay in place. Larger tires lifts everything higher.

To answer your question, for aftermarket lift, anything past 2" and you're rolling the dice on negative repercussions. Millage and people's stories will vary.

Do you have a 1/2” spacer that is yielding 1” of lift or is it a 1” spacer that’s yielding 2” of lift. Just wanted to make sure I’m not screwing things up worse by explaining that spacer height isn’t 1:1 as it’s more close to 1:2 lift ratio. Maybe I had it completely wrong to begin with?

The spacer has a height of 1/2", and provides 1" of lift.

So I got measurements from a truck I saw and want that height, hub to fender for front was at 23 " and the rear was at 22 ". It was just lifted with a spacer. Like i said i dont wanna go that route, so best coilover setup???

Best... Woof. Get ready. Haha. Foxes or Kings imo. Been seeing some bad press on icons service lately.

I haven't out driven my foxes yet, so I'm happy I didn't spend more on Kings personally.

But if you're looking to lift and just have a good ride you don't need to go super expensive.

What are you realistically looking to achieve , knowing that as performance goes up so doesn't cost

Yeah i dont need kings i was leaning for icon stage 1 or fox level 2 (though i dont need the reservoir) only reason why I considered that level is because it comes with a 2.5 shock vs a 2.0 (fox level1)

This is my daily driver if that helps!
So will obviously see more street than offroad

I just want to know of either if those setups will get me at 23 inches hub to fender up front

I just had a icon stage 1 lift installed. New UCA’s icon tubular delta’s and new leaf kit 2.5coil overs and 2.0 rear shocks. 9A04611B-819D-4FBE-981E-B727D29997DC.jpg Had it on for 5 days and love it. Just took it up to the snow and it did awesome.

I know it has been some time but I am looking for the same thing! I was leaning towards the Icon Stage 1 setup and I’m curious if you ended up picking that? If so any complaints?
