Awesome setups on this thread. Been reading a little each day and I’ve bought the audio control dq 61 for my setup as well. What can y’all tell me about setting it up? My current setup is factory head unit Entune premium plus non jbl with 8” screen. I have the tweeter kicker ks upgrade. Focal 165 isc 6.5” coax fronts and rears. Infinity basslink powered sub under my seat the alpine power pack 445u and an lc2i with AccuBASS.

I’m loving the new audio in my truck as it’s by far the best I’ve ever hooked up. I’d just like to have a little more control over equalizers and the time delay seems like it’d be great as well.

One question that comes to mind first is- Can I use my rca to speaker level harnesses I’ve bought to tap into the amp inputs from the dq-61? I had to cut off the power pack rcas when I installed it into my head unit. Essentially this is what I did to hook up my lc2i so I’m hoping and figuring that it shouldn’t be an issue..
I have a few more questions off the top of my head but before I ask and sound ignorant I’ll see if maybe they get answered with how y’all set them up. Thanks in advance guys and hoping I’ll get enough on here that when it arrives tomorrow I’ll feel confident enough to install the dq 61 right away

 

Unbolt the seat belt and literally rip it off lol. It's held on with 3 or 4 clips. When re-installing you need to pull the weather stripping away from the door because theres like 2 hooks that go behind it. Probably not much help without a pic or vid though, sorry.

Hi,
I upgraded my 2017 TRD Sport audio and now the right tweeter/speaker are louder then the left. The front signals from the head unit are off based on JL Audio TuN. Do you have the same issue that I’m having and how did you correct it?

I have OEM head unit + JL Audio FiX 86 Digital Sound Processor + JL Audio RD900/5 amp

Got to drive this truck the other day.



It was tuned to Bluetooth audio, so I didn't even get to enjoy the sound system. Jeremy let me take it to Autozone to rent a spring compressor while my truck was up on the jack stands.

He's been dealing with some RL stuff so he doesn't get on TacomaWorld much anymore, but I'll let him know you all say hi if you'd like me to.

No I never had an issue like that. Does the processor have any jumpers under the front panel. I know a lot of these have to have certain jumpers moved depending on how you set it up

 

I reached out to JL Audio support and he said that some of the new Toyota vehicles use an All Pass filter on one of the front output channels. It could be that the FiX is trying to compensate for the All Pass filter but can not. This could cause the uneven output levels. I ended up replaced the OEM head unit with

$818 pioneer avh-w4500nex double din wireless mirroring android auto, apple carplay in-dash DVD/CD car stereo receiver

pioneer avh-w4500nex and Crutchfield installation gear package. The system sounds good so far, however, the avh-w4500nex resets itself 2 to 3 times a week. I think it has to do with idatalink maestro rr. Hope someone on this forum has a fix for that.
