Hey guys, I got a buddy of mine that bought an 02 tacoma 4x4 3.4 a couple months back that's been doing a bunch of work on it trying to bring it back up. It has an issue though that it runs and cranks up great when cold. But after it gets warm, will not hardly start at all when shut off. Not sure if its fuel issue, sensors or what. Anyone had this issue before at all?

Sounds like a fuel delivery issue. When the truck is in closed loop the computer is dumping fuel to get the engine warmed up and into open loop (EGR mode). Is it throwing a code?

Id also replace the PCV valve. Might just be excess crank case pressure.

I like that! When I bought my 2nd gen, it was a toss up between that truck and a blue FJC. I needed the bed space more, so I went with the Tacoma.

I really don’t use bed space much, very rare occasions, a decent 5x8 trailer would meet my needs better than a truck bed for when the time comes. I’d love to have an FJ now but they’re holding value better than a dang Tacoma and I’d have to sell a vehicle to get into one

Check the Idle Air Control, carbon builds on them causing them to stick when hot. Does to start and run if you give it a little throttle?

Jeannie's coworker has a '06 or '07 silver/white top FJ she's trying to get rid of. I know it has over 200K on the clock though. She's the original owner.

She want to buy a Tacoma? Haha. Kidding.

I’d do a straight trade for a real nice 2010+ FJ though, built up or not.

Yeah, hers is the 1st or 2nd year. I did look underneath the FJ and the skid plates still look brand new, so I know it's never been off road. She's a timid old lady and I'm sure her driving style is the same!

    I installed this today. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D7J4VGM?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I bought this and a rear window seal because we sleep in the camper shell and I hope to extend our camping season a little by being able to use the heat and AC during transition months.

Super easy install. All plug and play, no wiring and works great. Only hitch is that the truck shuts off when you open the door to get in.

Sincere Thanks to Mac84 for the stock springs and shocks off his 2015 Tacoma, great guy.

Let me know if I can help with anything in the future!
