I don't believe that because of state, county and township rules for staying in and social distancing that the community event for this afternoon was canceled:annoyed:. I will have a few moments of silence in rememberance of those who paid the ultimate price. RIP

Congrats, unfortunately I have both of you beat but not by design or desire. As of yesterday my last chance of work for this year was canceled due to COVID-19, which wasn't a surprise I was just waiting on the final decision. I was hoping to work four more years (until 70) and maybe longer on a much smaller scale. Unfortunately with any return of this virus in the fall will be the final decision to stay retired. Not that I do not have a large enough 'Honey-Dew' list but I was hoping to go a little longer and start giving back within my industry for all the good it has presented me. Have a great day, this isn't a negative, slight bummer but life changes and we move on..

You both do know you are not really retiring and will likely be busier now than before - LOL

I had an amazing 26 year career as an active duty Army officer and 16 years in higher education - the last 8 as president of the college. Both were stressful in different ways and this last 6 months at the college have been a real challenge. I still miss the Army every day and I know I'm going to miss my leadership team at the college, the rest of the faculty and staff and, especially, the students. But, I also know that life is always shorter than we want it to be and I've had enough close calls in my Army life to realize none of us are guaranteed tomorrow - hell, when you can visit the Smithsonian American History Museum in DC and your uniform is in a memorial exhibition and still be alive to see it, you know you're on borrowed time. Lots to do, just on my own time.

Good morning all. My plans for today got off to a bad start. I had planned to get up at the crack of noon but the neighbors beside me and behind me got out early with their leaf blowers to clean up all the leaf debris from yesterday's storms that moved through here.

I've been out playing in the shop again. Working on a custom seam ripper for my mom.

I received a debit card in the mail, not quite sure why really. Pay our taxes quarterly so the IRS has all our bank info. Anyway, we got to looking into the debit card and the issuing bank can make some good money from fees. Supposedly 4 million debit cards are going out. If the average person that uses their debit card has to pay 5 dollars in user fees ...well that adds up to a lot of money for the issuing bank to collect. Just thinking outloud

    Morning all:
I got the check, but from what I've seen there are multiple ways to use the debit card without incurring any fees.
If I had received the card I would have made one transaction and transferred the money into the bank account instead of using it piecemeal.

Good morning all, rained all night. Nice morning, birds chirping, clear skies but more thunder-boomers this afternoon. Have a great and safe day everyone

I'm happy for the rain we're getting here yesterday and today. The grass I planted a week ago is finally starting to pop through, hurrah!

If I'd planted grass, it would all be down the street. 3" of rain Wednesday (plus another 1 1/2" last weekend), 3 gully washer downpours today. After 2nd one, we'd received almost 1.5". don't know how much we've gotten from this last down pour. News is saying could have been 4"

Good morning ,everyone, and Happy Friday to those of us still doing the work week thing!
:eek::eek: That's a lot of rain! Any flooding?

Yesterday turned out to be gorgeous - mix of sun and clouds and low 80s. I'm working from home but slowly turning things over to my executive VP who is replacing me and trying to use up some vacation time since I wot let the college reimburse me for whatever I have left. So I took the afternoon off...mostly...and spent time at the pool. rains started about 3:30 but we just got a quick downpour of shower off and on for a few hours and that was about it.

Today I think I'll wash cars and spend time at the pool - save grass cutting for tomorrow when it's only supposed to be about 60 for the high.

Is like 50% less. But it’s coming back up.
    I’m tired, I’m sore, but I’m lucky.
It could be a whole lot worse.

    Morning all:

 Sue, yea, that's a lot of rain! When I looked for arrowheads I would hope for that type of rain, always could find them afterwards.

Hang in there Mike, as you said, it could be a whole lot worse.

:woot:Got a surprise in the mail yesterday, a rebate from my insurance co. The letter attached stated that because of reduced vehicle usage, and fewer miles driven due to what's going on, they decided to issue a "dividend check", only $45, but thanks I'll take it.

Well, here I sit, last day of turkey and hardly went out, I had my chance! :(
