Well put. The same goes for aluminum as far as its only as strong as how well built the wheel is.

I personally love a very stiff rim. I had some WTB rims in the past and didn't know any better, they did the job and were relatively light. Then I got a set of AC Wide lightning wheels (still sad about AC going under :( ) Those were in another league compared the WTB i24 rim as far as lateral deflection. Now I have a set of RF Turbine R wheels and they are unforgivingly rigid. I love it. I can rail a turn and only get the feedback from the tire, no rim wandering and deflection. I assume my next set of wheels will be carbon rim since they are mature and value is getting better, I just hope I can find some that give the same stiffness.

Edit: Nice website! Looks like you are livin' the dream. Austria/Romania trip and pics are really amazing. Kudos!

my front hub has been making some noise recently and I’m thinking I’ll use it as an excuse to get some carbon rims. We are one seems appealing with that lifetime warranty and made in the PNW!

Any opinions on if this is a good option for hauling your bike?

    Bed Rail Bike Mount

I like the fact that it has a place for a lock. I'd have to buy a front bed rail so I'm not sure if it's better to buy the bed rail and mount or go for a tailgate pad...???

I love mine. Also FYI, Industry 9 dropped Reynolds, all their Carbon hoops are now We Are One.

Did a nice little ride today after 2 weeks of rain. Gotta say...

the X Tigers rock. Didn’t get a shot in the blue lenses but tried out the clear ones too and they’re great, aside from looking like a total dweeb

I was looking at the RF turbine R wheels with the vault hubs for my next set of wheels. I’m looking at building a bike at the end of the year.

Mine came Friday but I’ve been out of town. I saw a couple pairs on the trail today though.

This is true. BUT if you do the math, a WA1 rim and hydra hoop comes in several hundred less than just buying it direct from wa1. Their system lacing adds complexity and mucho extra dollars.

@SenatorBlutarsky go right to the source and order from weareone or Dusty at Hubsessed can hook you up locally. He sells quite a few WA1 carbon hoops

Pedaled most of the way up PCMR and saw some stuff today. Then savaged my PR times on the way down. Was chasing a much faster dude in front of me id been leapfrogging on the way up, and there were a few razor edge moments. 27.7mph in the loose on a hardtail with XC tires is a little spicy.

    oh my

That’s one of those situations where someone rides by you on the trail and starts laughing so hard that they run dead into a tree. Then just lay there any own it because those glasses are more funny than the fact that they just ran straight into a tree.

lol. Had to. Function over form. Whatever works.

Just finished the full tailored ride wrap on my TB4. Not gonna claim professional level, but I‘m satisfied with my results. Wasn’t as bad as I anticipated. Still took about 3 hrs.
