Thanks. Hopefully he will chime in. There are quite a few rods that go off the main one that apart from spending all day driving them, I’ll never know where they go. Just hoping there might be a little more play area up there.

Fyi, Google satellite image will show you alot. However, it doesn't usually show the current conditions of roads 100% accurately. Between that and free Gaia app, you can scout a good bit right from your phone.

Agree! I do that quite a bit. That is actually how I figured out how to get to goat mountain to begin with. I just run into the issue of picking roads that are closed down, but still show up on the maps.

Cool, folks getting out! Worked more on the camper, speaking of down trees for those of you who don’t have a chainsaw check out the Silky BigBoy 2000. It’ll handle everything up to 12” with aplomb, and in a pinch cut through more than twice that.

My main saw as a Wilderness and OHV Ranger, even when I had a Stihl on my bike as the latter. Just remember, they’re pull saws!

    https://www.amazon.com/Silky-Saws-7...=1&keywords=bigboy+2000&qid=1590978727&sr=8-9

Thought why not share, there’s a lot of different models, I prefer this one.

I had fun exploring, but none of the areas I visited were at all challenging. Didn't attempt any trails at la dee after being warned you might need sliders and being alone.

12 psi surprisingly didn't feel bad at all. It did feel better on minor obstacles than the 15 I normally run. Way worse once I touched pavement though. Not that 15 feels great on pavement, but 12 seems much worse than 3 psi would seem. I do like 18-20 for those times when I know I will be touching pavement in between trails.

I still haven't been off road in Washington at all. I need to do some exploring.

I was thinking browns camp, but I am open to anything the group wants to do.

It was interesting out in Mt Hood forest this past week. Many places look normal, not too many downed trees. Then some trails just down the road had so many downed trees. The contrast was stark.

That's great! After this week I was considering getting a saw of some sort. This looks nice and compact. Thanks for the share.

Silky makes great saws. Have a Zubat my bed at all times. Can cut thru a 4" log in less than a minute.

I’ve still not made it to Browns Camp. Assuming I can swing it, I’d be up for trying it out. Are there other long bed Tacos in this group?

I know but I have seen videos of people using it and it looks stout and holds a decently good charge.

You'll be ok at La Dee without sliders. I didnt hit all the trails there, but I did a couple. Did the one that connects to the staging area. It has some rocks as a gatekeeper. I would recommend going down the road and running it in the direction to end at the staging area. Ran it both ways and it's definitely trickier running it by starting at the staging area.

I did scrape quite a bit on the trails out there, tho (front skids, frame rails, receiver hitch). I don't recommend going alone, because some spots can be tricky. If you get stuck it wouldn't be good. It's muddy, rocky, and lots of muddy, standing water holes everywhere.

Did you play around at the large open gravel area at the east end of the main road?

Brown's is awesome. You'll be ok with the long bed, but most trails are tight. Expect to be inches from trees on either side (or both) at times...just gotta pay attention. 3 point turns might be necessary in some places. Overall, the area is great. So many trails. One of the best areas I've been to yet.
